My friend Sofia, her partner, Balazs and I have a plan to make a few new friends this year. The ordeals of starting new friendships after 30 are well-documented in countless articles, so we know it's a tall order, but we are going to give this a good go, anyway.
After spotting Jennifer's brilliant tip, we decided to throw a 'plus one' cocktail party sometime this winter. Supposedly, this technique works best if you already have 6 - 8 friends you can invite over for drinks. Tell them to each bring a guest or two and voila! This way, now you have 10 more potential friends to talk to and get to know over a casual glass of gin and tonic.
Couldn't be easier, right? Hope you'll try it too.
P.S: Progressive dinner Parisian-style.
P.P.S: What's your story?

I want to join in. Jill
I've been divorced for a couple of years now and find it is really hard to make new friends. I split with a few when the divorce happened and although I have my closest friends it would be nice to have a few more for that quick coffee meet up or happy hour. I love the idea of a plus one party and participating in the community.
Lila, yay! Glad you like. Cheers to making new friends:)
