Fashion Has No Age Limit

Thursday, April 28, 2016

Swoon, Ari Seth Cohen has done it again! Since 2008 this brilliant guy challenges the cultural norms of fashion and celebrates the beauty of aging. Earlier this week he came out with his second book, and above are a few snaps that totally sum up what fashion should be - playful, dapper, sophisticated, (at times) saucy, joyful, uniquely us and definitely ageless.

Thumbs up from me! How about you?

P.S: Food and fashion, and ageless fashion gene Berlin style.
P.P.S: Plus, a minimalist take on the work uniform.

Popsicle-Stained Lips

And since we are on the subject of spring beauty gems, here is one more that I can't get enough of lately - the Generation G popsicle-stain in 'like' (for daytime busyness) and 'jam' (for saucy nights on the town). Have you tried it yet?

It’s the most wearable lipstick on the planet, by a mile! It looks very natural, leaves lips looking saucy and because of it's consistency, you can totally treat it like a tinted balm. Perfection!

P.S: Minimal and subtle manicure, made easy!
P.P.S: Plus, this awesome post-workout soak.

Wake-Me-Up Coffee Scrubbies

Remember this superb one-minute coconut coffee scrub? Ha, I just discovered a new twist on it!

For mornings when you need an extra dose of pick-me-up, try mixing half a cup of coconut oil with half a cup of coffee grounds, and instead of placing the mixture into a jar, divide it into muffin tins or ice cube trays and freeze it to create those nifty morning wake-me-up scrubbies. Kelly says those little cubes increase blood flow to the area as they exfoliate and give an instant boost when you're not quite ready to face the day. (Here is the full recipe).

Totally giving it a go, you?

P.S: A little 'natural you' challenge.
P.P.S: Plus, this twist on coconut oil.

I Looked Up and There You Were

Look up! A brilliant Slovenian photographer, Katja Jemec, created a series of images showing shelter dogs in a funky new perspective to raise awareness about abused and neglected pups across Europe. Instead of looking down on stray dogs, she hopes that these images will help people realize that shelter dogs can be loving pets if you only give them a chance. Brilliant!

P.S: Remember those cuties?
P.P.S: You're doing just fine...

the loveliest shade of nude nail polish that makes me feel elegant and ready for anything. It has the prettiest cream hue that easily complements all skin tones and besides being actually good for you, it makes for a gorgeous new take on the old classic.

What nail polish colour have you been wearing lately?

P.S: Would you wear tangerine lipstick?
P.P.S: And my go-to vanilla take on coconut oil.

My Go-To Spring Uniform

What's your go-to uniform nowadays? For me, the last few weeks have been all about midi skirts (my new favourite), tucked in button-down shirts and oxfords. I love how this rather simple combo makes for a comfortable, tomboyish and totally versatile look that feels great whether I'm rushing for a meeting or having a drink with friends.

P.S: Also, French-style spring uniform and a forever piece.
P.P.S: Plus, the DNA of Parisian style.

Top Tip To Frizz-Free Hair

Does your hair get frizzy or appears to be damaged no matter how well you try to nourish it?

Here is a top tip to make this all go away. Simply invest in a microfiber hair towel. Last month after Samantha’s recommendation, I took the plunge and got this smooth operator thinking it will either be a miss or a hit - and just after a few uses I'm already chuffed with it!

Supposedly, frizz and hair damage starts with how you dry your hair and according to experts, regular towels can be too rough on hair causing friction and breakage, which leads to sad locks. While a microfiber towel is designed to be super gentle on your hair.

Would you give it a go? Have you already?

P.S: Also, the loveliest hair accessory for spring.
P.P.S: And tons more hair goodness.

Eat Your Heart Out

Monday, April 25, 2016

Breakups aren’t easy and everyone has their unique way of dealing with a loss. For example, after her relationship ended, Isabella Giancarlo found herself unable to stomach foods she once savoured. So in order to work through the messiness of saying goodbye, she faced it with baked goods. She gathered various breakup lines and placed them on pies and cakes to be eaten or tossed and never be seen again.

She said: 'To me, desserts suggest: Go ahead. Gorge. Engage with the uncomfortable, sticky feelings that are so often dismissed as self-indulgent.'

Brilliant, isn't it?

P.S: Also, Drake on cake.
P.P.S: Plus, half-birthday?
