Cheers to a great weekend

Friday, July 31, 2015

Cheers to the last day in July! What are your plans for the weekend? Lately, I can't get enough of dim sum and pho soup - even in the hot weather, so tonight we are meeting friends for an Asian-food feast. Besides that, tomorrow I'm going for a body art class that is a mix between yoga, meditation and Pilates. Wishing everyone a jolly good next two days and I will see you back here on Monday morning. Fancy going down the internet rabbit hole? Enjoy!

What unconditional love looks like...

Thursday, July 30, 2015

Oh my goodness, this little story just made my day! A little over a week ago, David and Sarah got the call that all families who want to adopt wait for. They were told they have a match and they should pack their bags immediately and catch a plane to Florida to meet their new baby daughter. They asked Sarah’s best friend, Kristen to join them to capture the first meeting on film. By Wednesday afternoon this little cutie was officially theirs…

How special, right? Love all around!

P.S: Parenthood is about love, not genetics.
P.P.S: Blended, and what's your perfect number?

Lithuania and Croatia From Above

It’s always fun to see how our world looks from above, don’t you think? Karolis Janulis travels across Europe and brilliantly snaps birds-eye view photos whenever he can. His feed is swoonworthy - so if you fancy a dash of travel lust (from above), have a peek or two:)

P.S:Bird's view of NYC and rooftopping.
P.P.S: Also, airing out Miami style and flying over LA.

Awkward Vacation Photos

Wednesday, July 29, 2015

Giggle! How about a little mid-week smile to get us through this week?

I bet we all have an awkward family vacation photo that we wish could get lost somewhere, don’t we? For me, those holiday fails are an essential part of my childhood memories. I have probably a dozen snapshots that used to make me blush, but nowadays they just amuse me.  I've got one where I’m covered in chickenpox spots while wearing the biggest hair pom-pom the world have ever seen:)

So when this morning I stumbled upon this website full of awkward family vacation photos, I knew I had to share. Go on, crack a smile! :)

P.S: Also, the universal family, a few stylish families and Skype family reunions.
P.P.S: Plus, ubuntu - I am because we are.

Dress The Rainbow

Coral pink

Hot pink

Fire truck red

Tomato red

Mustard yellow
Pineapple yellow

Holy Moly, this is pure genius! Earlier this month, Brittany set herself a 50-day rainbow challenge where each day she wears one colour of the rainbow. Besides dressing herself in fun colours she also snaps a photo of her outfits against a wall of the same colour and even invites friends to join her in the fun! She is now on day 22 and going strong. I so want to join in, you? My colour would be navy blue or deep wine - yours?

P.S: Also, a rainbow cake and a rainbow cloud.
P.P.S: Minimalist take on a work uniform.

Half-up knotted crown hairdo

Half-up hairdos are huge right now, so here is another sassy take on them in the form of a beautifully simple knotted crown. I actually wore this little do last weekend for a friend’s wedding with a navy dress and I got tons of compliments on my hair. It took me probably 3 tries to get it right, but when you get the hang of tying the knots, you’re already there. Here is the full how to.

Fancy giving it a go?

P.P.S: Fancy having wavy beach hair all summer long?

Natural Headache Balm

Tuesday, July 28, 2015

Do you suffer from headaches? I get them often so I’m always on a look-out for natural and new ways to deal with them.

Last month, I discovered Stephanie’s peppermint and lavender balm that not only smells amazing but it's also perfect for those annoying headaches. It’s a simple mix of infused dried herbs, beeswax and olive oil. It takes a while to make, but it’s so worth it - I’ve been using mine on repeat. Here is the recipe if you’re curious.

P.S: Summer lipstick trick :)
P.P.S: Also, a few more of my favourite things + this sleep salve is amazing if you have problems sleeping.
