The life changing indoor plant tip

Tuesday, September 30, 2014

Fancy making sure that the next plant you buy will last you for a long time? Just swap from regular watering to ice cube watering. It's that simple!

I started doing it about 3 weeks ago, after I spotted Elise's tip and weirdly our plants and herbs are even happier - especially the orchid and our new hanging spider plant. The awesome part about ice cubes it that the ice melts slowly, giving the plant and dirt time to properly absorb the water without overwatering it. Nowadays, I just drop one or two bigger ice cubes every 4-6 days to each plant and I am set. Try it, it will make all the difference. xo

2 Sassy Ways To Tie Your Scarf This Fall

Without a doubt, scarves and autumn make the perfect pairing. Wouldn't you agree? And as much as they make us feel warm and cozy, they can also make us look like a French girl strolling the street of Paris. In their magical little way, they can upgrade our everyday jeans-and-sweater-uniform in no time. So here are two new and very snazzy ways to wear your beloved scarves this chilly season. Starting with the uptown wrap above... (my absolute favourite)

...and the shawl + knot.

How do you wear your scarves? Which of the two techniques would you try? xo

P.S: Faux fur scarf: thumbs up or down?
P.P.S: Three times fancy.

Would You Dare?

Blimey! About two weeks ago a bunch of brave slackliners gathered at Monte Piana in the Italian Dolomites for their annual Highline Meeting, and what a sight it was!

Each participant was invited to walk one of the 18 different highlines after which everyone created a long hammock line to enjoy the view from 330 feet in the air. Supposedly it’s a sight to remember with a 360-degree view of the lake below and the surrounding mountain range. The brave ones even decided to stroll across to visit a few of the hammocks for a little meet and greet before moving on to the next stop. Yowza, I’m terrified of heights, but what a cool experience that must have been! Can you imagine the view from up there? Would you dare? xo

P.S: How about a dip in this jellyfish lake or a super refreshing ice hole?
P.P.S: Air ballooning...

Autumn Water Mix: Apple + Cinnamon

Monday, September 29, 2014

...And speaking of apples, hopefully I'm not the only one who notoriously forgets to drink enough on daily basis. Am I?

Somehow the only way for me to get my 8 glasses of water a day is if I have a bottle of something very appealing waiting for me on the desk. So, here the perfect autumn water mix that should guarantee hydration success: apple and cinnamon - I've been drinking it for the past 2 days and I'm hooked.

Just mix 2 sliced apples with 2 litres of water and 2 cinnamon sticks. Leave it in the fridge or on your kitchen counter for an hour and start drinking. Ta dah!

P.S: Also, besides being delicious, cinnamon contains fiber, calcium and iron and it's perfect for when you are coming down with a flu or a cold.
P.P.S: Magic tea + a few more jazzy takes on water + vanilla ice.

Foxy Autumn: Thumbs up or down?

Recently, I spotted our stylish upstairs neighbour wearing the sweetest fox print sweater with a denim skirt and snug tights. The one thing that stuck with me was how a dash of this unusual print can give an edge to the most understated everyday uniform. I love the idea of embracing funky patterns during autumn. What do you think? Would you be brave enough to wear a foxy dress, a sweater or a scarf? xo

P.S: This one tickles my fancy.
P.P.S: Also, autumn elegance at its best.

Apple Branch

Yesterday while taking an afternoon stroll, I spotted the sweetest fall decoration idea - a fresh apple branch bouquet. I just love how autumny yet simple it looks. Plus, it would make any coffee table look so darn festive in no time. Thoughts? Now I just need to figure out where to get a branch or two. xo

P.S: Plus, herb bouquets, ivy-covered houses and those ageing beauties.
P.P.S: And this house of windows.

Rare Gems

Thursday, September 25, 2014

Ha, Michael White's new documentary called The Last Impresario is about to hit theatres. So, to promote his newest film, the genius producer decided to share with the world his personal photo album filled with rare snapshots of his closest (and mighty famous) friends. The album goes back 50+ years, so naturally it’s a must see! The one thing that strikes me most is how much everyone looks just like regular people having a good time with friends. I love that! xo

P.S: Icons and their bikes.
P.P.S: Icons and their stripes.

Nipper and His Buddy

Aww…A few years back this little baby dolphin was spotted on a beach near Montevideo city in Uruguay. After people called animal rescue, Richard Tesore, the head of the team got involved and nursed the 10 days old cutie back to health with constant care, tons of cuddles and bottle feeding. When the little guy got stronger, he named him Nipper and taught him how to swim. Precious, isn't it? xo

P.S: Remember this story?
