Ha! Did you know that flamingos are pink because they eat shrimps, rich in pink protein which builds up in their feathers? I had no clue about it till a few days ago. Also, if you fancy experiencing the most mesmerizing bird spectacle on Earth, you should take a trip to
P.S: Also, the whales' eyes and this adorable duo.
P.P.S: How would you fancy living with Neil?

this is breathtaking! I love the animal kingdom, and the gathering of animals it's a feast to the eyes. Plus, flamingoes are kind of cute!
One of my favourite animals, although million of flamingoes sound scary (remembering Hitchcock and Tippi Hedren :))...
I saw them in the South of France, there's a tiny park where you can see them living quite freely, it's nice but of course not as amazing as it looks in Kenya, the park in France is really small but cute.

Amazing photos! It must be the one of the most stunning events to see (if you can call it an event). Love the photos of the baby flamingos' too!
I saw a bunch of them while I was in Mexico. So beautiful! Also, as they grow older the pink color gets stronger :)

Here in Louisiana (USA) we have a bird called a Pink Spoonbill which resembles the Flamingo and there is plenty of shrimp in our bayous and the Gulf of Mexico.

We have flamingos less than 1h drive away from home in Camargue ,south France. They are so cute! Should actually visit the place again, full of bulls, camarguen horses and flamingos!
They are cute indeed, Patricia. The babies look so sweet as well, don't they?
French Twist, I like that -"one of the most stunning events to see". It totally looks like an event.

Marta, that park in France sounds dreamy. Btw: good point about Hitchcock and Tippi Hedren:)

I learned that when I was on a field trip but I still think it's fascinating! If food does that to them, what is our food doing to shape us...?
Good point, HiLLjO! Something I need to look into:)
