Crabbing Season

Wednesday, February 29, 2012

How is day of crabbing for a summer fantasy? Early July last year, Teppei got invited for a whole day of crab-catching-fun with a few of his friends. Just imagine waking up with the sun and the crisp ocean morning air, enjoying a cup of fresh coffee on the deck while dipping your toes in the cool water. Then later doing some fishing, and finishing off the day with a backyard cook-off of scrumptious crab, beer, friends and laughter. Doesn't it sound like an amazing day? Are you in? Lovelies have you ever been on a crabbing day? Would you like to? xo

P.S: Also, Maine daydreaming and summer sailing:)
P.P.S: How about manatee watching?

5 Steps To Purple Perfection

I am utterly hopeless when it comes to applying eyeshadow. The result is more often mortifying than not and instead of looking snazzy, I mostly end up looking like a mess.

So imagine my excitement when Annamarie did a five step tutorial on this awesome purple eye shadow look that has been everywhere lately. I adore the mix of sweet soft pink lips and cheeks with the beautifully defined lavender-purple eyes. Great combination from day to night, don’t you think? She also says that it’s super easy to play around with the intensity of the colour. You can either punch up or tone down the shades depending on your mood and your liking. (Bonus tip: when using purple tones don't forget to use mascara to brighten and define the eyes).

Loves, would you try this look? Do you use eyeshadow daily? What’s your favourite colour? xo

P.S: Annamarie recommends this eye shadow, this cheek colour, this lipstick in dolce vita and this mascara for this snazzy finish:)
P.P.S: Three ways to va va voom!

Days With My Father

A few days ago I spotted this incredibly honest and heartfelt project by Phillip Toledano and I simply had to share. After his mother's passing, Phillip decided to create a very intimate photographic journal documenting the relationship with his aging father over a span of three years. The amazing thing is that he doesn't only share emotional photos of that period but also in a beautiful way he manages to create an overall image of his father’s personality including his sense of humour, his struggle with memory loss and above all his unfailing spirit. I shed a tear or two over it. What a beautiful memory to have close to your heart, don’t you think? xo

P.S: The whole journal was published into a book.
P.P.S: Love ever after.

Bloomin’ Gooey Cheese Bread

Tuesday, February 28, 2012

Blimey, how would you fancy a piece of that delicious oven baked gooey cheese bread? What's better than a loaf of our favourite bread stuffed with Provolone cheese, some spring onion, poppy seeds, fresh herbs and creamy butter. Jen says that you can totally personalize the filling with your own flavour combination choosing ingredients you love most on bread. For Balazs and I garlic would be a must, shortly followed by gooey mozzarella, red onion and fresh basil. Yum! Loves, would you try it? What would be your flavour combination? xo

P.S: Here are two different takes on this recipe: with mushrooms as a main ingredient and this one with onion.
P.P.S: Sugar rush!

Bit Of Sunshine

Back in kindergarten I had a bright yellow summer dress that my parents loved dressing me into. Unfortunately I wasn’t too keen on it or any dresses for that matter. I was more of a tomboy at that age but the one thing that stuck with me was when my mom endlessly used to tell me that yellow is my colour because it beautifully dresses up my olive complexion, deep brown eyes and dark hair. You probably guessed already that yellow has never been a huge part of my wardrobe even after my mom’s convincing but lately I've been seeing all those amazing pops of bright sunshine everywhere and I think, it's time to give it a second chance and maybe even get myself a cute little sundress this spring.

Lovelies, how do you feel about yellow pops? Would you wear any of the outfits above? What colour can’t you see yourself sporting? xo

P.S: Just spotted those yellow-ostrich flats and I love wearing my light-mustard-colour pants that look almost like those.
P.P.S: Stunning yellow eye makeup.

Audrey Hepburn And Her Baby Deer

Crikey, how heart-warming are those photographs of Audrey Hepburn and her pet baby deer named, Pippin? I remember as a child wanting to have a pet penguin and used to daydream how I would keep him all cool and comfortable in my parents tub. Oh boy, somehow later on I got convinced that having a dog can also be fun and now Balazs and I have those two rascals. Lovelies, how about you? Do you have a dog, a cat or maybe a gold fish? What pet did you dream of having as a child? xo

P.S: Also, do you remember this cool fella?
P.P.S: How about this cutie!

The World's Largest Rope Swing

Oh my, if you need something to get you on your feet this morning and coffee doesn’t do the trick, this video surely will! A group of very adventurous people came up with an idea of swinging through the beautiful naturally formed Corona Arch in Moab, Utah. They planned and safety checked the whole project beforehand and on the day they filmed their whole mind-blowing adventure (there was even a mid-air marriage proposal). Even though I would never dare to swing 150 ft up in the air, I find that video incredibly thrilling and the views are simply stunning! Loves, would you be brave enough? xo

P.S: Also, bivouacking on the edge of a mountain and teahouse on top of the world.

Dutch Baby Pancakes

Thursday, February 23, 2012

Oh boy, Dutch pancakes hold a very special place in my heart as I remember my dad whipping them up for me on the weekends. I always been a picky eater and those totally hit the spot especially if he added an extra hint of honey or a few extra strawberries to the mix. I can't wait to try Emma's take on them with roasted cherries and cinnamon sauce. Yum! Darlings, have you had Dutch baby pancakes before? What's your all-time favourite breakfast dish? xo

P.S: Here is the full recipe if you fancy giving it a go and another one that I really like.
P.P.S: What's for breakfast?

The Flats Thing

Loves, do you wear flats? They are my ultimate go-to-shoes! What I love about them is that you can wear them with a pair of jeans or a fancy dress and look super adorable and feel comfortable. My friend, Lilly says that the reason she sticks with ballerina flats (which she has a full closet of) and stays away from heels is because it's better to look snazzy wearing simple flats than in pain and all over the place in heels. I've always admired girls who can rock the high heel look but sadly I look like Olive from Popeye while wearing them. How about you? What’s your shoe of choice? Where do you buy flats? xo

P.S: I just got myself this polka dot pair and I can't wait to wear it.
P.P.S: Also, snazzy loafers and cool sneakers.

Icons and Their Bikes

I simply can't get enough of this super cool tumblr full of our beloved icons riding bikes. Every time I feel like going for a bike ride and it's snowing or raining I indulge myself in little Marilyn or Alfred Hitchcock with his awesome signalling or even the Beatles boys having a bit of childish fun! Loves, do you ride bikes? When was the last time you went for a spin around? xo

P.S: Icons and their stripes.
P.P.S: Girls + bikes and this awesome gem!
