Crikey! Have you ever tried to slice your buttery delicious avocado, coat it in Japanese bread crumbs and slide it in the oven for 20 minutes? No? Me neither, but that's about to change today. I can't wait to try this take on my beloved avocados! Beth says they are super addictive and oh-so scrumptious. (Full recipe here). What a tease, isn't it? xo
P.S: How to properly slice & dice an avocado and an awesome avocado saver (giggle).
P.P.S: Roasted garlic goes perfectly with avocados too.

Update: Since the recipe link doesn't work anymore and many of you emailed me about it, here is Beth's recipe step-by-step:
You’ll need:
Preheat oven to 450 degress. Coat avocado slices in the flour, egg and panko. Spread on a cooling rack that has been sprayed with non-stick spray, then place on a cookie sheet. Spray the top of the wedges with olive oil and sprinkle with salt, then bake for about 20 minutes at 450, or until they are golden brown.

Oh that seems strange. Maybe after I try avo chocolate mousse. My dad used to love avo choc shakes. Crazy kids

MG, Beth served it with seared tofu and asian-style green beans. I'm thinking, chicken sandiwches with avocado fries on the side. What do you think?

I made these, absolutely delightful.. just make sure you add spices to the flour dredge, egg wash & spices to the panko .. I added to all three and still felt it needed a tad bit more spice.. I did cut up pepperjack cheese and put it over half of the fries and that was awesome too!!!
Yum...thanks so much for all the tips, Robynn:)
I like these ones too!
I will def try it!

me gusta tu blog!!!
I tried the recipe exactly as it was posted. The fries had a great crunch but were kind of bland. I added a little garlic salt to them after I baked them, which definitely helped. I agree with Robynn - add spices to the egg, flour, and panko. Next time I'll definitely add garlic and maybe some seasoned salt or Emeril's Essence.
So when I saw these I thought the same thing as anyone else "Yum! Must try!" I tried them and they are a disappointment. My mom and I couldn't finish them and it was hard to eat them with out something butter made it better but still not very good. I would not reccomend it.
At what temperature did you bake these?
Anonymous, 450 degrees for about 20 min. Hope that helps:)
I do believe this would be fantastic with my cilantro jalapeño dip!
This would be great for low carb dieters. Just season the avacado and roll in crushed pork rhines. If you can get around the pork rhines, these would be great for when you are craving something different! Thanks for sharing!!
me gusta tu blog!!!
Tey are good with cheese too!! <3
