How incredible are those photographs? They are from the
2011 World Aquatics Championship that is taking place in
Shanghai, China right now. The synchronised swimmer teams are one of my favourites! Despite all the stuff they have to endure like challenging routines, regulating breathing, precise timing - they all manage to look so graceful and peaceful. Almost
ballerina -like! Don't you think? xo
P.S: On a random note, the synchronized swimmers can't touch the bottom of the pool during the routine and their most essential equipment is a
nose clip. Interesting!
(Thanks, Balazs for the photos)

Synchronized swimmers also have to do "laps" of the pool in their routine. Ever notice how their team moves across the pool during their routine? That's on purpose, because they have to. :) I know, because I was a competitive synchronized swimmer for years. I *LOVE* the pictures you found! They make me nostalgic for it. Even though the training is absolutely *grueling*.
I sometimes try to hold my breath as long as they are and I simply cannot do it. They are amazing.
hi! these pics are awesome! I didn't know they can't touch the bottom of the pool.
enjoy the rest of the day!
muah!
That's strength, discipline and team effort all in one pool. They're amazing!

Ok, that's pretty cool!
Eliza, that is really interesting and yes, I've noticed how their team moves across the pool. Thanks, sweetie. You are brilliant:)
Synchronized swimming always reminds me of the gorgeous and totally over the top (in a great way) silver screen productions with swimming routines. So cool.
