Emma Watson's London Tube Book Club

Thursday, November 3, 2016

How brilliant is this?

On Tuesday night, the sweet Emma Watson hid a few copies of Mom and Me and Mom (the November read for her book club) on the London tube like a true book fairy. She simply wanted to make Londoners' commute more enjoyable…Ah, like I needed a brand new reason to adore her even more:) Well done!

Daily Bread

Speaking of...do  you remember this thought-provoking project by Gregg Segal?

Well, this brilliant photographer is at it again with his new series all about consumerism. This time around he asked kids and their parents to keep a journal of everything they eat in a week. Once the week was up, he replicated the meals and snapped portraits of those children with the food they ate. His goal was to record the spectrum of diets eaten around the world, to acknowledge the dietary shortcomings children face in this crazy fast-food society and to educate children about eating healthier.

How fascinating...

P.S: How much food people eat per day.
P.P.S: 25 000 mornings...

Sweater Season

Wednesday, November 2, 2016

Do you wear sweaters? With temperatures dropping, it's time to get your sweater drawer in order and finally start wearing your cozy knits on repeat. If it so happens that a few of your oldies are beyond repair and you need to replace them, here are eight snug, comfortable, wearable and autumny knits that might be just right for you....

From the top: 1. Scottish lambswool sweater - 2. Mermaid sweater - 3. Plumo's stripe sweater - 4. Zady sweater - 5. Gap's fair isle sweater - 6. Lufan cardigan - 7. Finisterre's stargazey wool jumper - 8. Everlane's ribbed wool cashmere crew.

Which one caught your eye?

P.S: Also, all things Fair Isle goodness...
P.P.S: Plus, my go-to sweater-buying tip, and poncho perfection!

Trash Man

A week ago, on a sunny Wednesday, Rob Greenfield dressed up in a self-made trash suit containing 84 pounds of waste that he created over the past 30 days and took to the streets of New York for one last casual stroll before the end of his month-long project. His aim was to communicate in a visual and rather powerful manner the scary scale of over-consumption that surrounds us. By doing so, he hopes to get people to re-think the simplest choices they make about food they eat, the water they drink, the gasoline they put into their cars...

Mind you, his 84 pounds of trash is actually a third less than an average American produces over the same time period. Thought-provoking to say the least, isn't it?

P.S: A gallon of water a day.
P.P.S: Family table...

Autumn Red

Tuesday, November 1, 2016

If  you're after a rich red nail polish with velvety blackened red shimmer, you should try Isla. This stunning hue has been making my boring daily uniform look all glamours, just like that!

I'm telling you, it doesn't get any better than this autumny cool-toned red. Try it:)

P.S: Speaking of fall
P.P.S: Plus, this little manicure...

F**k Cancer Cake

Cancer creeps into peoples' lives without warning and sadly many of us know someone who has or had cancer....

About two years ago, Lyndsay was diagnosed with breast cancer. The next 18 months were all about beating the beast. She did, and this year during October, in hopes to celebrate the victory, she started a fun little #fuckcancercake instagram campaign.

For every F**c Cancer Cake anyone created and posted on Instagram, Lyndsay personally donated a set amount of money towards The Lipstick Project. So above are just a few of those incredible cakes that amazing women made last month to support Lyndsay’s efforts.

Incredible, isn't it...?

Paris Re-Tale

It  goes without saying that I find Sebastian Erras’ work alluring on all levels.

So, there is no surprise that I also love his newest project called Paris Re-Tale. This rather special series is all about showing off the modern and vintage shop signs and storefronts of small Parisian retailers, to pay tribute to those spots that make the city so uniquely... well, Parisian:)

P.S: Also, Parisian desserts and vintage Parisian girls.
P.P.S: Fancy more Parisian goodness? This way please:)
