Found: The 'it' Anti-Aging Mask

Tuesday, October 25, 2016

Do  you use anti-aging cosmetics? How about some of those very popular Korean beauty products?

Although I’m 34 years old, I rarely reach for anti-aging remedies. It’s not because my skin looks so youthful, it’s purely because I’m too lazy to really sink my teeth into the world of all those different creams targeting specific areas of your face.

Nevertheless, I've been curious about this whole new world of beauty. So, the other week I stumbled upon Christelle’s nifty post about Korean anti-aging solutions and feeling totally up for the challenge, I tried the egg cream mask she recommended.

Once I saw that the mask contains egg white and egg yolk extract, I knew it was going to be something special, but I got totally gobsmacked by how nourished and revitalized my skin felt just after 20 minutes! Now I’m completely addicted to my newly found beauty booster.

Have you tried this mask yet? What did you think? Any other goodies you'd like to recommend?

P.S: Another great egg based mask you might want to try.
P.P.S: Plus, the anti-ageing eyebrow...

Parisian Bookshop (You Can Sleep In)

'Books mean all possibilities. They mean moving out of yourself, losing yourself, dying of thirst and living to your full. They mean everything.' - Ali Smith

If Paris and books are your thing, you should check out the Shakespeare and Company bookstore located just under the shadows of the Notre Dame at 37 rue de la Bûcherie. It’s one of the most prestigious and unique spots on earth.

For more than six decades now, this place has hosted aspiring writers and book lovers, sometimes for months at a time - totally for free. Those people are called Tumbleweeds and they can stay for as long as they want but in exchange they must work in the shop for a couple of hours and read a book a day. Supposedly, on average people stay for a week or two, but there once was a person that lived there for a whopping 7 years! Incredible, isn't it?

Ah, after everything I read about it, this little spot is the it Parisian literary hub that will inspire to the core without asking for a penny in return....Incredible!

Have you been there? Would you like to visit it?

P.S: Shh...reading, and this little gem.
P.P.S: Plus, GAL and reading women...

Blooming Plants In a Glass Dome

Don’t you just love all the unusual ways people display their plants?

For example, genius floral designer, Anna Potter loves placing her blooming plants and flowers in a glass dome for that rather unique and beautifully serene vibe. So if you fancy making one of those beauties yourself, here is an easy how-to:

Take a handful of fresh moss and cover a small piece of floral foam that has been soaked in water. Then add foliage to create height and to cover some of the foam base and the moss. Use the glass dome to measure that the arrangement will fit inside. Lastly, add flowers, following the lines of the foliage you have created - use taller stems for height, shorter stems nearer the base. Keep it compact too, so it still fits in the dome. Place the glass lid over the top and ta-dah! All ready:)

Isn't it stunning?

P.S: Also, girls with flowers and decaying blooms and this awesome spot in L.A....

Autumn Fashion Trend: Velvet

Monday, October 24, 2016

There is no denying that velvet is the go-to fabric this season. Everywhere I look, there is somebody sporting a velvet blazer, a handbag, a pair of shoes with velvet details or even a dress made entirely of, yes, velvet!

Personally, whenever I see this rather heavy fabric, I think of my mom's not-so-flattering coat back from the 70's, but having said that, over the weekend I tried on a navy blue velvet blazer and I actually found it incredibly stylish, in that tomboyish-kind-of-chic way. I'm sold!

What do you think. Thumbs up or down?

P.S: Autumn elegance at its best...
P.P.S: Plus, sassy ankle boots, jazzy coats and a great pop of colour:)

Post-Weekend Pick-Me-Up

Mondays (or Tuesdays) are a bummer, especially after a fun-filled weekend spent with people you adore. So here is a nifty tip to make today (or any other gloomy day) easier...

In the morning, while you’re getting ready for the day, simply place a few drops of rosemary essential oil into a diffuser and let the aroma entice your senses, just like that...

Yup, our mind and body is designed to take the scent of rosemary oil as a sign of a natural wake up call, where our heart rate naturally increases, our brain starts processing the information, and we suddenly feel fresher, more active, less drowsy and ready for the day ahead.

Try it, it’s better than coffee…

P.S: Autumn transition...
P.P.S: Plus, something to help you sleep better and for when you have a headache.
