The weirdest (yet nifty) coffee balancing tip ever!

One of the reasons I've been limiting my coffee intake is hormones. Over the past few months, I've noticed that it doesn't work well for my skin and more importantly for my gut-health and my mood. But after a few weeks of very little to no coffee, I finally learned a trick that actually gives me the best of both worlds - the ability to enjoy my coffee without negatively affecting my hormones.

So what is the secret? Simple, from now on, drink a cup of tea (green or black) after your coffee. That is all!

According to Kate Callaghan, 'tea is a great source of the non-essential amino acid l-theanine, which has the ability to negate the cortisol-increasing effects of caffeine. Not only will this be better for your hormones, but you will notice improved mental focus and clarity, as well as a more sustained, calmer energy lift throughout the day, in contrast to the edginess, and peaks and troughs associated with coffee.'

Brillaint, isn't it? I'm still only going to drink one cuppa a day - it's a good compromise, don't you think?

Roasted Dandelion tea is a really good fake out for coffee! I did a health challenge last week, and that's what I drank in place of coffee :)
