Ladies’ Rooms Around The World

Monday, April 11, 2016

Besides the obvious reasons, ladies' room has always been a place to escape during awkward conversations, uncomfortable dates or tense meetings. As soon as you shut the door behind, you have the space to pause, figure out your next move, or gather your thoughts. Having said that, it’s also the place where you don’t want to stay too long or touch anything more than absolutely necessary. And in all its wackiness, it’s also where women often share the most intimate secrets with people they have never met before.

So you can imagine my excitement when I stumbled upon this amazing series by New York based photographer, Maxi Cohen. This awesome lady spent her career shooting the most egalitarian of spaces, from a Miami film festival in the 1970s to the racially divided discotheques of Zambia. She has been everywhere and those photos are the amazing proof.

P.S: Vintage Parisian girls and through a mother's eyes.
P.P.S: It's good to be a girl...

I just love this!! My husband is in a band so I've seen my fair share of different bathrooms from concerts to bars to halls. It's quite an experience! =P
