One thing this year...

Tuesday, January 5, 2016

Do you make New Year's resolutions? By now I learnt to stay away from them, as I have a history of notoriously breaking every one on the list.

Having said that, ever since 2012, instead of setting myself for disappointment right off the bet, I changed the rules and went for little challenges instead. Four years ago it was all about solo eating, followed by the simple things in life; then it was going back to basicswhile last year was dedicated to being more present each day and cutting myself some slack.

This year will be all about letting go of expectations put on me by other people, society or even myself; letting go of words like should or supposed to and living my life the way that works best for my little family.

I am so ready for the next 12 months! How about you? Making any resolutions this year? What are they? Fancy joining in the challenge?

P.S: Life's little winter moments and New Year's quirks.
P.P.S: Ladies' night...

I dont do resolutions. My thing is clean out my life from the past year. I purge like crazy to clear my home and mind for a fresh start. Gets me started on the right track and gives back to others.

Last year my big goals were wedding related: 1) lose weight and feel good in my dress and 2) stay on budget and I succeeded with both! I worked diligently on both goals all year and am so happy that I achieved them :)

My sister gave us a wedding gift of a small 3-year book that has a prompt and lines for each of us to fill each day so I intend to complete it every single day. It only takes a minute, so that should be achievable! I also have some career-related goals that I've set, but they're quite vague still so I need to take some time to formulate concrete objectives.

Happy New Year!

Happy new year, sweetie!

I hear you! I am totally the same when it comes to resolutions, if anything, I´d prefer real goals. Much like you, I thought about what I want my year to look like and it´s also been focussing more on myself and put myself first and don´t care so much what others would want me to do... I also like the idea of having a word or virtue for the year and I choose EXPLORE because I think it sums up all of the things I want to do this year and just say YES more to new and exciting opportunities :)
I´ve been known to tiptoe into things instead of jumping right in, but this quote by Simone Elkeles really resonates with me:

'If you tiptoe into cold water, you're missing out on the rush of plunging in headfirst.'

Here´s to an amazing and exciting 2016! xo

Happy New Year, my dear!! I try to make goals of stuff I want to learn to do and places I want to travel. Resolutions always make me feel bad about a month into the year, so I stopped doing them too. The last 6 months 2015, my husband and I made some tweaks to our diets and started to be more active and we really saw some great results. This year I want to stick with that momentum and increase my activity. There are two things I'd really like to accomplish. 1. Run a 5k and 2. Be able to do the crow pose in yoga. Other goals focus around learning more about floral design by working and learning from great designers and grow more flowers this spring and summer. And the places I'd love to visit are Denver and LA to see friends and my dream trip would be Denmark, Norway, Sweden and Finland. Happy 2016!! xo, Katie

Happy new year to you Diana!

I love your goal for the year. Letting go of expectations can create so much room for magic and opportunity. I struggled with letting go of expectations I have of myself and over the past 12 months worked on letting go of the expectations society has of what I should be doing and how I should be doing it. It's a constant work in progress and now with a baby on the way there's even more that society expects but I'm kindly and firmly saying, no thank you and doing what feels right for me, our baby and my family x
