On being relaxed...

Thursday, July 2, 2015

We often say: I'm tried/sleepy/unhappy/happy/stressed or even content, but rarely relaxed. There is always a certain readiness to react that follows us around. Isn't there? Is it because in today's fast-paced world being relaxed means being lazy? Is it why we keep ourselves on tiptoes? Well, sometimes the simplest solutions to stress and unhappiness are the best. So here are some wise words from Mr. Bill Murray himself on how important it is to be relaxed!

"The more relaxed you are, the better you are at everything: the better you are with your loved ones, the better you are with your enemies, the better you are at your job, the better you are with yourself."

I'm taking notes. You? When was the last time you felt truly relaxed? (I can't remember).

P.S: I believe...
P.P.S: How to stay happily married or have a great relationship and something for when life gets tough.

Great conversation starter. I strongly believe the reason we cannot relax is because of high expectations from work, family, even friends.

Oh, gotta love Bill Murray. That is SO true. I need to relax more - or feel relaxed more often.

I think that's so true. I'm terrible at relaxing. I actually started weekly yoga classes last week in an effort to be better at it and I'm on my third week of daily 15 minutes of meditation with the Headspace app which seems to help a bit!

The Headspace app is great! I did the free trial and found it really helpful! The last time I felt relaxed/lazy was around Christmas. We had very few travel plans and I just lounged around my home. At first I felt a lot of guilt, like I should be doing something. Eventually I gave it and it was wonderful! :)xo, Katie
