The best way to keep flowers fresh

Wednesday, May 6, 2015

Ha! Recently Melissa tested all the different possible ways to keep cut flowers fresh and extend their life to the fullest. She tried everything, from the well talked about penny method, to even the aspirin trick, but the one that I have never heard of and the one that actually works best is putting your flower bouquets in the fridge overnight. It beats all the other tricks by a mile. Who knew?

So if you fancy making sure your blooms stay fresh this spring, stick your bouquet into the fridge before bedtime to enjoy them for longer! I'm totally trying it out. You?

P.S: Also, newspaper wrapped flowers and Indian flower power.
P.P.S: Plus, fresh flower paper bag bouquets.

I always feel bad when my flowers die. It's one of the reasons I don't by them often. I'll try this. Thx

Great idea! It's pretty similar to a florist's fridge. Just be careful if you have fruit and veg in there, their offgassing can shorten the flowers life. And make sure it isn't too cold. They ideally like 40-50 F. Over the summer, I popped some bouquets in the fridge and it was in the low 30s F, the tips of some of them blackened, but overall it was a great way to keep the bouquet fresh on a hot summer night. xo, Katie
