Healing Soldiers

Wednesday, February 4, 2015

Heartbreaking! Recently National Geographic created a piece on soldiers who have sustained brain trauma in battle caused by blasts and how it affected their life. Many soldiers are still struggling to come to terms with what they've seen and experienced. Luckily, some of them found that using art therapy and creating masks help them to express and articulate how they feel on the inside. One soldier said: "I think this is what started me kind of opening up and talking about stuff and actually trying to get better."

Each mask represents their pain, struggle and fear. You can read and listen to each individual story here. Totally and utterly heart-rending!

P.S: Soldier's story.
P.P.S: Stay tuned for a sassy GIVEAWAY!

People don't realize how war affects families, individuals and communities. We need reminders like this to show how war can destroy us.

I saw you post this on facebook and was so intrigued. What a great way to help them heal. There really needs to be more help for Vets in all countries. They do so much for us and we need to start helping them heal. Thanks for sharing this.
