Darlings, did you know that apples are the most eaten fruits in the world? Sounds about right, doesn’t it, since everyone goes by the saying: an apple a day keeps the doctor away. So, since we all love them and eat them weekly, here are four nifty tricks to those awesome fruits that will make them even more enjoyable to eat:
1. If you want to keep your apples from browning after you slice them, mix 2 tablespoons of honey with one cup of water and let the apple slices soak in the mix for a few minutes. We tried this trick a few times already and it's genius!
2. This is my favourite trick to fight food cravings: Whenever you get a craving for something but you're not really sure whether it's physical hunger or 'head hunger,' ask yourself first, "Would I eat an apple?" When you think about it, an apple isn't a very exciting food...most people wouldn't necessarily get out of bed for an apple like they would for a brownie. So if the answer is "No, I wouldn't eat an apple," that's when you know it's 'head hunger.' Makes sense, doesn't it?
3. If you fancy having an apple snack on the go, slice an apple at home and keep it together with a simple rubber band. Whenever you get peckish at work or on a subway, your apple will be ready for you.
4. And this one is especially great when you want to impress your friends or share an apple but you don’t have a knife. This little video will show you how to become a superhero and have the power to split an apple in two with your bare hands. This trick is especially appealing for boys but I have to admit, I loved it too. (And it's not as hard as it looks).
