The Battle We Didn't Choose

Thursday, February 13, 2014

A little warning: you will probably need tissues after reading this story. I still get teary just thinking about it.

In late 2006, after a short long-distance relationship, Angelo and Jen tied the knot in Central Park. He fell head-over-heels in love with her the first time he saw her and she played it cool till she finally revealed her feelings a few months later. They were made for each other! Sadly, only 5 months after their special day, on February 11, Angelo and his then wife found out she had breast cancer.

After her cancer got worse, Angelo started taking photos of their everyday life as an outlet that helped him deal with the sadness, pain and the struggle of Jen trying her best to beat the sickness. As heartbreaking the ending of this story is, Angelo’s photos humanize the face of cancer and capture the difficulty, fear, and pain that they experienced during that difficult time. Two days ago marked the 6th anniversary of Jennifer’s diagnosis. What a beautiful couple and a heartbreaking story yet so brave! How beautifully sad are those images? xo

P.S: Here is their full story in Angelo's words. A must see!
P.P.S: Plus, six decades of love and love ever after. What's your story?

I'd seen these photos before but they are certainly ones you can keep looking at. I didn't know about the TED talk, so I've just opened that up. Thanks for sharing Diana, wishing you a great day xoxox
