Organic or Conventional?

Thursday, January 9, 2014

What’s your pick: organic or conventional? If you ever thought that the 'organic' label is just a hype or like me, you believe that most organic products are actually healthier, this little girl will blow your mind either way. She is a 3rd grader who decided to do an experiment to show the difference between organic and conventional. It shocked me! Have a look for yourself - food for thought, wouldn't you say so? Thoughts? xo

OMG, I need to rethink the whole way I eat since I mostly shop in our lecal grocery store. If I understand it right, there is also a difference between store-organic and f.market-organic. Need to look into it. Thank you for sharing this video.

Woah, definitely thinking I should go organic. I wish there was more organic food available here in the winter months.

That was such a great video! I hope that little girl grows up to be a scientist!

I do think that choosing organic foods is generally the healthiest option. However, it shouldn't be forgotten that pesticides, herbicides, and genetically modified plants have help provide food for millions of people that would otherwise not have had access to dietary staples, like wheat and corn.

I think the most important take away from this video is: do your own research before making major dietary decisions!

@Rachel Mi213 I think it's important to remember that any benefits of "conventional" agriculture have come at the cost of soil/land degradation, water pollution/nutrient run off, animal brutality/antibiotic resistance.

For me it is most import to remember that it is not only the consumer ingesting these chemicals but also the workers who are subject to harsh working environments often without the proper education or protection from these applied products.

Angela, oh that is so true!
