Serendipity

Fancy spending a romantic weekend right on the beach and waking up to the most beautiful view you've ever seen? Listen to that: this gem of an inn is not only located in the most swoonworthy part of Hatteras Island in North Carolina but it also has the most charming little story.

Originally the house belonged to a family who decided to sell it and move when the water level started to increase. Unfortunately, they couldn’t find a buyer and the amazing place was in danger of being swallowed by the sea. That is till 2010 when a couple who saw the house being featured in this film, fell head over hills in love with it and bought it straight away.

Here is something awesome, they not only bought it but also rescued it from the water by moving the whole construction to a safer location just a bit further down the beach. Yup, they lifted the whole house at once. Nowadays you can enjoy the never ending views and the calming sounds of the water in the safety of the beach. Can you imagine sitting on the porch each evening bundled up in a blanket, sipping your hot cocoa and getting utterly lost in the serenity of it all?:) Oh boy, I am packing right now, you? xo

P.S: Plus, a few other swoonworthy spots.
P.P.S: A beautiful giveaway Wednesday is coming up!

So gorgeous! It reminds me of that Richard Gere/Diane Lane movie, lol where he just conveniently happened to be living in the neighborhood.

Ohh, this is gorgeous. My perfect home I think ;)
It reminds me the house from "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind", but this is even better.
