Summer City Backpacking: Thumbs up or down?

Wednesday, June 26, 2013

Speaking of all things Sweden, would you swap your beloved tote bag for a backpack (or rucksack as my mom calls it) this summer like the Swedish girls do? Lately, I've been spotting tons of easy-going jeans-backpack-oversized-tee-type of looks and I think, I might just take the plunge as well - especially during our vacation next month. It just seems so darn comfy, fuss-free and works great with understated summer style. What do you think?

P.S: I am torn between this one in grey and this one. Which one do you fancy more?
P.P.S: Plus, the always comfy sneakers:)

You just convinced me that I need one with the second backpack in your ps link. I love the hand dyed style of it. I'll be getting one in "stormy". What a great name.

Seeing as I just bought a leather one a week ago, I'd have to thumbs up as well.

I love the stying of them so easy and relaxed. But i am a nervous nelly and am always checking my back to see if it is shut tight enough or worried i will drop something out if slung over my shoulder

I LOVE my leather backpack, especially when on vacation. Way more comfortable (no aching 1 shoulder), better capacity and often very easy to keep secure (Mine is Roots -beautiful options with buckles and ties and thick leather to ensure strangers can't get in without me knowing!)

i normally carry a large purse when i'm roaming around SF but the last time i was there, i carried my baggu canvas backpack and OH MY GOSH, i have been doing it wrong this whole time. it was so nice carrying around a backpack. i will never go to carrying a large purse around my city again!

I love packs but when traveling I'd still carry the importants around my neck :)

I love that you can be hands-free while trekking around a city and it feels safer than a handbag in crowds.

I love the first one - it seems more grown up than the usual backpack.

Loved this post Diana

Thumbs up indeed. Love the images especially the first, however, whilst I love seeing backpacks on others, I feel it's not my cup of fashion. But what do I know about Fashion?;-)
