Phugtal Monastery in India

Friday, August 24, 2012

Crikey, look at the incredible Phugtal Monastery! The honeycomb-like cliffside construction is a home to 70 monks in Ladakh, India. They have no electricity and the nearest village around is about two days away on foot, but despite all that, this gem is one of the world's most visited places by tourists. Incredible, huh?  Would you go? xo

P.S: Also, Indian flower power and their amazing festival of colour!

So amazing to see this! I can't help but wonder tho, that water that comes down - wouldn't it errode the little homes? Seems dangerous. Hope the ones under the water are empty.

Tasia, I read that during the monsoon season, water pours from the mouth of the cave and they take this as something special and totally natural. Water is considered to have curative powers there.

Beautiful! I'd love to visit, as much as I would want to not sure I could live without the Real Housewives. Haha just kidding... maybe.
