The Simple Things In Life

Wednesday, July 25, 2012

After a fun packed weekend with the family and a super busy two days, last night I treated our flat and us to something special. I took Morgan's tip and brew a pot of  this amazing concoction. Truly, in a matter of a few minutes the whole flat smelled like special summer memories. You could close your eyes and distinguish the light notes of beautiful rosemary, fresh lemon and warm soothing vanilla. We put on Mile Davis, had some red Italian wine and watched the rain falling on the other side of the windows. It was magical! The simple things in life – le sigh. What did you do last night?

P.S: Morgan says that you can let the concoction simmer on your stove for the whole day if you want, just make sure to keep on refilling the water. Also, she mentioned that it’s ok to use the same mix for up to two days. Genius!
P.P.S: Other fun tips: on avocados, on cherries, on garlic, on poached eggs and how to keep fresh flowers beautiful for longer.

That combination seems refreshing and smoothing in the same time. I bet your evening was great and now, I am inspired to do the same tonight. Cheers, Grace

This is amazing. I´ll give it a try soon.
I love to clean with lemons actually. It´s a natural antibacterial and it leaves the bathroom sink shiny and a fresh smell that lingers....

I tried this a few weeks ago and LOVED it!!! It filled my home with a very clean, light scent.

I love tricks like this one. Im huge on smells, Im always cooking, but I'm concerned that the house might smell like food all the time, so I'm always burning incense or candles and using spray fragrance.

Martie, I need to try using lemons more often for cleaning. That sounds really wonderful and I love the fresh lemon scent. Thanks!

Yay, Wendy:) And Patricia, we often use candles as well to mask the food smell but this will be my new favourite smell trick. It's beautiful. You should totally give it a go. I am going to play with different herbs as well.
