The Little Things In Life

Thursday, May 10, 2012

Here is a little thing I started to do lately: when I feel like my week is too busy or I haven't had much time to relax, I simply wake up a bit earlier in the morning and take a walk to my favourite flower shop. Yesterday was one of those mornings. I got up and took a breezy stroll around the sleepy city and came back home with a bunch of coral colour peonies that were just about to bloom. They are my favourite! Le sigh - the little things in life...

Lovelies, what are your favourite flowers? Btw: What peonies colour do you fancy the most: pink, rose, purple, scarlet, white, yellow, coral, cream or crimson?

P.S. Here is a fun fact: according to feng shui, putting fresh peonies in your home will help bring love to your life. (Great gift idea to all the single friends). Sweet isn’t it?
P.P.S: Oh la la Parisian flower market.

My daughter just asked me the other day what my favorite flower is and my response: POENIES! I the the scent, their boldness, and it may also have to do with my mom grew them in our backyard when I was a child.

Ahhhh, its the little things, you are right!

I love getting up early and accomplishing little things before the sun comes up. Sadly, today I've been up since 3:30 a.m. but I'll try to squeeze in a nap later.
I have gone through phases on my fav' flowers, for years it was calla lillies and tulips, the more sculptural flowers. Lately I've been leaning towards peonies as well and ranunculus. I love them all.

I love that taking a stroll to the flower market helps decompress!! I need to try that! Also coral peonies are my favorite!!

Gorgeous!! Peony and ranunculus are my favorite types of flowers! I have a mini hydrangea bush in my backyard and it feels decadent to cut a few flowers and make an arrangement in the house. Little things are wonderful :)

Maybe *that's* my problem: I hardly ever buy myself peonies, even though I adore them. (I've found them hard to find over here) I love your busy-morning routine! xx

I love this new little habit of yours - how sweet it is! And these peonies are just GORGEOUS.. definitely one of my favorites. It's hard to pick a favorite color, but I think I'll go with pink!

That is an early morning, indeed, Jeanette and I like your idea of "accomplishing little things before the sun comes up". I am totally going to try this too. (Hope you had a chance to take a little nap today).
