One Word: Pasta!

Friday, March 9, 2012

Tonight, Balazs and I are having a date-night but instead of going out for a dinner we are staying in and cooking up this super dooper looking Roman pasta or Alla Carbonara, if you will. (And by we, I mean Balazs cooking and me refilling the wine glasses). I can't wait for tonight!

Lovelies, when it comes to cooking, who does it in your home? You or your husband/boyfriend? Or maybe it's a team effort of one chopping and the other cooking? Psst, who is the better cook between you too? (giggle). I'd love to know!

P.S: Here is the recipe!
P.P.S: Also, how awesome are all those antique pasta tools below? The ravioli stamps are the coolest gems ever!

Diana, how romantic. You always give me great relationship inspirations. It's nice to see someone who can enjoy the little things in life to the fullest. In my household it is (sadly) mostly me who cooks and I am definitely the better cook. Ha! Cheers, Grace.

Diana! That definitely makes me crave for pasta :) Btw, did you know that authentic carbonara is made with an egg white base instead of cream? Yum!

That looks so good!!! We both cook, but he does more of the cooking than I do, since I'm the one who does most of the cleaning. It's a pretty good system. :-)

Bella, this recipe calls for similar technique: eggs and finely grated pecorino romano cheese.

That is a great system, Stephanie:)

I am craving pasta all the time now.

Oh my hubby for sure is the cook in the house. I just sit back and wait to be called to the table. He doesn't even want help, he likes to work by himself.
If I make dinner it is a microwave or frozen entree' LOL

Enjoy your night, it sounds dreamy

How neat! What a fun night for you guys! I'm always (happily) the cook in my world but my last boyfriend (who is still my best friend and sous-chef, haha) did surprise me once by making dinner when I got home from work: macaroni & cheese with cut up hot dogs! It was so cute :)

What a great way to spend the evening. We have made pasta from scratch a few times, we should make the effort to do it more often!
