I've always adored
Iceland but after spotting those photos and watching the incredible
video below, my heart is set on
this spot! This gem of a short time lapse film was shot by
Michael Lévy in June 2011, during the breathtaking phenomenon called
Icelandic Midnight Sun which occurs in the summer months north of the
Arctic Circle where the sun never fully sets and remains visible 24 hours a day. I had no idea about this, did you? Also, during the
Arctic summer the sun sets at midnight and rises at 3 am but it never gets dark enough for the stars to fully come out.
For 17 days, Michael travelled solo shooting tons of images while falling totally and utterly in love with this place. Swoon! Aren't those photographs breathtaking? The colours totally blew me away. xo

I've always felt a pull towards the Artic Circle and its atmospheric phenomena, there's something celestial and ethereal about it. I've love to visit the area one day.
