Autumn Trend: Red!

According to Cosmopolitan Magazine the red hot hue is on fire this season. I'm the first one to admit that I'm not brave enough to wear red from head to toe but I'm planning to incorporate the glorious colour to my everyday look this autumn as much as I can. So today I'd love to share a few ideas on how to wear red and be super stylish in an encouraging and totally not intimidating way. Lovelies, how do you wear red? Are you comfortable with wearing it? xo

P.S: Red flats.

Harvest Party

How would you fancy a harvest party? The other day Aprile posted about this genius autumn party idea and I can't stop thinking about it. You simply invite a few friends for apple, berry or tomato picking and afterwards you spend an afternoon making peach butter, berry jam, fresh tomato sauce or pickled vegetables while sipping wine, eating cheese and chatting. When the party is over, each guest grabs a jar-full of goodies for home. Doesn't that sound fun?

P.S: Bash under the stars and pancake party.

Oh la la Girl Crush

J'adore! This Parisian cutie oozes coolness with her tomboysh cowgirl vibe. I love the checked shirt, long belt and side braid combination. I would never think of pairing it all up with jeans jacket but it totally works, doesn't it? (I fancy one now as well). xo

The Ageless Fashion Gene - Gentlemen Edition

Let's talk men this morning, shall we? But not any type of men - the older gentlemen with an incredible fashion gene. It's natural to look at older ladies and admire their style but with men it's a bit different. I'm always in awe of my 76 years old neighbour who no matter what time of the day it is, he looks spotless in his buttoned-up vintage suit with a pocket handkerchief (of course), matching bow tie, immaculately polished leather shoes and a sparkle in the eye. (I’m not even going to mention his well-groomed moustache).  I just adore the way he harmlessly flirts with all the single (older) ladies in the building and chats up the mail man with such an old-fashion yet so du jour manner.

Darlings, aren’t those older men stylish? They totally give a hard act to follow to our younger generation, don’t you think? Do you know any gentleman who loves to put his fashion-foot forward on a daily basis?

P.S: Scott Shuman has such an eye for spotting those stylish fellas. The photos above are mostly from Florence and Milan.
P.P.S: A fantastic GIVEAWAY Wednesday is coming up!

41 Coffees

Tuesday, September 27, 2011

Some people snap fun traveling feet shots, others like to remember their summer vacations by photos of beautiful surroundings but this handsome bearded fella is all about coffee. Last summer, Alan documented nearly all the coffees he had during his 21 days trip around Europe. He drank 41 cups of coffee in places like Barcelona and Milan. As a huge coffee fan, I'm totally loving this series:). Life is truly about those little simple pleasures, isn't it? Sweets,  how do you document your travels? xo

P.S: Have a coffee break in Italy.
P.S: French Press.

Travel Fantasy: Gardens of Marqueyssac, France

How whimsical! In one of the most unspoiled parts of Europe, deep in the former province of France in Périgord, there is a magical place called Gardens of Marqueyssac. They were planted in 1861 by Julien De Cerval whose dream was to create a romantic experience for the visitors of the gardens, where they could get lost within the paths and enjoy the organic shapes of the plants. Each part was carefully thought out and planned to perfection.
No fairytale garden would be complete without a dreamy chateâu - of course. During summer, each Thursday evening the gardens are candlelit and various musicians play concerts for visitors. They also have tons of fun stuff for kids including rock climbing, picnics and swings. If that wasn't enough, there is an area that meanders 130 meters above the river giving breathtaking views. Just by looking at those photos I’m dreaming about spending an afternoon sipping wine, listening to live music and taking in the mesmerizing views.

My darlings, have you been to France before? Wouldn’t you love to visit this place? xo

P.S: Paris after dark.
P.P.S: Provence style home.

Carrots - the bad habit fixer?

Monday, September 26, 2011

I have a soft spot for sweets and it only got worse since I started to work from home. I try not to have anything tempting in the kitchen but somehow I always manage to pop down to the shop for a bar of chocolate. So, when Sarah posted about her sweet-tooth dilemma the other day I felt motivated to kick my habit as well. Sarah says that by snacking on carrots she stopped craving sweets. She always has a little bag of washed and cut carrot sticks in her purse so whenever she feels the need to snack on something she reaches for them instead of cookies.

It makes sense, doesn't it? It's more about the habit of snacking, rather than the actual food, so why not munch on vitamins, right? As my Balazs is not a huge fan of carrots and he is working late tomorrow night, I might try this ginger-roasted carrot recipe for my eating alone night. Doesn't it look delicious? (And it has miso dressing - yum!).

Lovelies, do you have any bad habits you'd like to get rid of? Do share...xo

Low-Slung Blush: Thumbs up or down?

After years of ruthlessly perfecting the natural blush-y cheeks, it seems that the slightly more eccentric look is coming back his autumn. According to François Nars the vibe of 18th century romanticism mixed with a bit of drama is very IN this season. François says that to achieve the correct finish, you have to blend a darker blush very low on your cheeks and this way your face will look thinner and more elongated.

My darlings, do you wear blush daily or just for special occasions? What do you think about this trend? Will you try it? xo

P.S: I love this cream blush.
P.P.S: The anti-ageing eyebrow.
