Travel Fantasy: Tree House

Tuesday, September 20, 2011

A few days ago I spotted those beautiful tree houses and I haven't been able to get them out of my head since. I keep daydreaming about having one of these. Or at least renting one for a long weekend, somewhere fantastic like France, Switzerland or Italy, so I can sleep under the stars. La Cabane Perchée is the awesome French company that builds those beauties all around the world. All you have to do is pick your desirable tree, and they do the rest. These tree houses are totally eco-friendly and have everything a normal house has. Plus, the designers always make sure that the construction blends carefully into the natural environment.

Darlings, can you imagine swapping your home for a tree house? Would you like to live in one? xo

That was sort of a dream of mine as a kid...to one day live in a tree. I thought somehow it would be more like The Princess Bride... you know, you hit a tree branch and it opens up a secret passage, but one of these will do!

There is a tree house hotel of sorts outside of Seattle! I haven't been, but I've heard of people going and loving the experience :)

LOVE these. I think it would be a good vacation home idea. Maybe someday I'll get one built in the mountains and rent it out to vacationers (and go there often myself!) haha...hey a girl can dream , right?

Btw: just out of curiosity, have any of you had a tree house growing up?

Okay, I love it to pieces. But how the heck do the toilets function up there. I'd really like to know because I really want to do this.

Tiffany, I read that the bigger tree houses not only have a toilet but also a shower. It's somehow build into the whole pipes system.
