Travel Fantasy: Peruvian Oasis

Wednesday, August 10, 2011
Lately, Balazs and I've dreaming about an exotic getaway. With the summer being so unpredictable, we are itching for something lazy, hot and near some crystal clear water:). So the other day when I stumbled upon this little oasis I gasped with excitement! It's seems to be one of those gems you simply must visit in your lifetime. It's located in the middle of a desert near Ica, Peru, complete with a lagoon, lush palm trees, cafes and a swimming pool. I can totally imagine spending my days sun bathing, taking dune buggy trips and sandboarding, which sounds pretty cool. (Have you done it before?).

Lovelies, have you been to Peru before? Are you planning a trip this summer? If you could go anywhere today, where would that be? xo

P.S: Stay tuned for an amazing giveaway Wednesday! Can't wait:)

Also the lagoon has a very cool little legend. As the story goes, it was created when a beautiful princess was surprised in her bath by an over-zealous suitor.
Appalled, she fled. Her dirty water became the lagoon and the folds of her mantle, streaming behind her, became the surrounding sand dunes.

Never been to Peru. I'm so wondering how this place doesn't slowly cover with sand during storms. Amazing.

Mermaid gallery, it's the real deal. Amazing, huh? And Jeanette, that is such an interetsing point. I wonder that now too.

We loved Amsterdam, Smita. It's a fun place:)

I've been there, too! Sandboarding sure is fun. If you climb the dunes at night, you have a fantastic view on Ica from above. It is a fun place to be, but, to be honest, not as magical as it seems from a distance.

Beautiful! I would love to transport myself there now! Reminds me a little of the sand dunes in Fossil Valley from when I used to live in the Middle East...they can be so, so pretty with the sunlight shining and the waves made by the wind!
