Fashion Inspiration: Playing with patterns

Tuesday, May 3, 2011

There are girls out there who can totally rock all different patterns, textures or bold colours and still look breathtaking. Nicole is one them in my book! Don't you just love the playfully eclectic vibe of her outfit? A beautiful balance between bold stripes and graphics. How about those adorable missing pocket patches on her jeans? Love! Darlings, do you wear patterns? Or you're more comfortable on the pattern-free side? xo

Patterns patterns? Can't keep my eyes of those fantastic bell bottoms. Luckily, I already bought two pairs ;-)

I love a mix like this - there are some who just have the gift - and that's why she's the executive editor of style.com!!

I love patterns! The more the merrier! I love mixing different ones at the same look, it makes me happy in a way.

P.S. Also blogged about colours and patterns today! Great minds think alike!! :)

Agreed! She just looks effortlessly cool.

I'm more comfortable on the pattern-free side, however I'm really trying to change that. Being a little more adventurous with your wardrobe is so much more fun.

p.s. Thank you much for the b-day wishes!

Love prints...usually gravitate towards printed dresses...shirts and pants tend to be on the more solid side for me.
But love her look here...thanks for sharing!
Have a fabulous week.

adorbs. I love prints, but have more solids because I feel like I can get more wear out of them.

I love her jeans too!

I have yet to be bold enough to play with multiple patterns, but I love the idea of it and the way it is sown in your post is just beautiful and classic! Thanks for making me think outside the box a little...I must try this! I hope you are having a lovely start to the week, Diana!

I was big into bright patterns when I was in High School. Then I went into solids. Now I'm discovering my love of stripes. But I love love love her outfit!!

i'm still a bit nervous to stry this trend. i prefer plain colors or just one pattern...perhaps i'm boring!

KristiMcMurry said...

I've never really tried any patter mixing. When I do wear patterns, it's usually a top :) With minimal accessories. I guess I'm a bit plain.

I love patterns--especially stripes right now. I like this idea of mixing patterns--very cool.

and also--I really like her jeans--that they flare a bit. I like skinny jeans and all--but honestly, after having children they are harder to pull off--especially in the waist area. :)

I love the pattern mixing. And the flares. Sigh
