Sandwich and Telly Night

Thursday, March 17, 2011

Balazs is going to be late home, so I'm eating alone tonight. I'm thinking a sandwich-in-front-of-the-telly type of night. I spotted this grilled beer and cheese sandwich this morning and it looks awesome! I've never tasted beer bread before (have you?) but I heard it has a very different texture and it's delicious. Perfect for tonight! Dears, on nights like this do you cook for yourself, go out for a dinner or order in? xoxo

P.S: recipe here.

This looks and sounds pretty amazing. On nights like these, I usually have to eat leftovers, or make something quick and easy like a sandwich or frozen food. Lame, I know, but I'm not a cook!

When AC is out I love to order my favorite Chinese food (which he cannot even stand the smell of) and watch something extremely girly! :D
Sometimes it is good to be alone isn't it?

That sandwich looks delicious! On a night in watching some tv, I like to cook something quick like a quesadilla or cous cous and a nice glass of vino. Nothing fancy.

I tried to make 2 loaves of beer bread last week to use up a pale ale I have sitting in the fridge and both were failbreads :( Although, I didn't have a loaf pan and tried to bake the second one in a brownie pan. Don't try that!

I've never tasted beer bread before either. I always get home late from work so it depends on how tired and lazy I am feeling. I prefer cooking for myself but sometimes I don't have the energy.

On nights like this I eat cereal and make dinner for the boys. LOL.

That sandwich looks delicious. I have had beer bread and it was amazing. There's a restaurant in town that serves it with every meal. MMM. I'm usually a - eat whatever is left in the house when I'm alone person.

Looks delish! If my roomie isn't home I will either a. make a very easy dinner and veg out in front of the telly, or b. have something delivered if I haven't spent a lot of money lately and still veg out in front of the telly. I know, I'm a wild child :)

Beer bread is sooo good! (And this is coming from someone who doesn't really even like beer). When I'm home alone for the evening, I usually make some comfort food. I'm such a girl:-) xoox

I always cook for myself, although lately, I've been eating really lame food for dinner because I've been sick. so corn on the cob has been a prominent feature, I am not sure why.

mmmmmm! That looks awesome. And so is beer bread. Go for it!

DEZMOND said...

oh, yes, you can use beer in a lot of salty cakes and treats. You can even use it in a batter for breading meat or tofu or whatever you eat :) before frying and it gives wonderful crunchiness.

I'm too lazy to cook for just myself (what more, usually the man is cooking and not me...) but I'm also too lazy to go out or order takeaway... hmmm.... sounds like I'm a very lazy person... I'm not! Just when it comes to food!
Anyway, I usually end up nibbling from the fridge or eating a boring sandwich which doesn't look tasty as this one, not one bit...

Diana Mieczan said...

Kristin, yes. Tomato soup fits perfectly with this sandwich!
