Let's talk Office!

Monday, March 14, 2011

I love re-watching 'The office' and often daydream about working in such a disfunctional environment. As much as I love working from home and having my flexible hours, comfy sofa and pj's (I wear them a lot), I occasionally miss the gossip, silly pranks, running for buses and sharing lunch breaks. How about you, guys? I would like to know if you work in an office or from home, like me? Do you like your office space and your co-workers? Do you have any 'office'-characters? Are you close with some of them? I love reading about you :) xoxo

I definitely have a few Dwights in my office! haha. I do love my coworkers though. Everyone really cares about the people we work with and it's really inspiring.

I LOVE the show. &my work is at a desk in which people walk up to. I get to learn a lot about the residents in my building. Especially the insomniacs and smokers. I talk to people's parents as they sign them in and stay up listening to Pandora with friends. I watch people in flashy outfits leave for the night and come back tipsy with guests. Kind of like people watching. I make friends. I sign guests in. I help when residents are locked out.

It's easy and fun.

I work from home now and I love love it. I did work in a large corporate building at one time - gotta say I loved that too because it's where I met my husband :)!

I love the Office. I used to watch it all the time and then I stopped. I need to watch it again. I wish I could say I was as cool as Pam but I'm totally not.

Haha, I work in an office, but it is nothing like the show. I wish!
(I also wish there was a Jim for me here)

I am a nanny while I get my teaching credential online so I know what you mean, I miss seeing funny characters everyday!

Oh no! Watching The Office makes me so happy I don't have an office job. But I freakin love the show and I cannot get enough of Jim and Pam. Sigh.

Oh how I adore the office too :) My first job was in fashion so naturally worked with a ton of girls! Two of them turned out to be my life long besties- one week we tallied up the hours we spent together from work over the weekend and it was near 100!! Hope you had a great weekend darling!

I've yet to see the US version, but the UK version has me in stitches of laugher every time...re-run after re-run. I know, how sad is that!! My very first job was in fashion too...now that has me all nostalgic...loved those girly days. Miss them. Working from home is another ball game altogether!

Wishing you a wonderful day too, my sweet. Hugs. Alison xx

I work in an office, and everyone is nice enough, but for the most part, it's just pretty boring. No office gossip or anything like that, but I suppose that's a good thing. Hope you had a lovely weekend! Mine was nice and relaxing; thanks for asking. :)

I work in the most un PC office ever. Very similar to the show ;)

I work from home, and I'm a nanny. So no "office" type interactions for work. Though some of my dear friends remind me of some of the characters!

I really need to catch up on this season! I used to watch it all of the time.

I don't work in an office setting like that, but I certainly have some interesting colleagues! Some good, some not so much..

I kid you not, my office is just like the one on The Office. Not only do we have some of the quirkiest characters (all sweet people though) but my husband and I both work at the company together. We got married while working there and now we have Jim and Pam name tags on our cubicles...not by our choice though - everyone calls us Jim and Pam. I suppose it could we worse:)

I love The Office! I work in an office but it is nothing like the one on the show. There's one guy that reminds me of Creed but no one quite as quirky or enjaoyable to watch as the characters on the show.

My husband works from home but actually sells office supplies and constantly gets teased about working for Dunder Mifflin.

Oh my gosh, I watched like 10 old episodes of the Office this weekend! I get to watching one and I can't stop!!

Happy Monday Darling! xo

I do not miss working in an office but I love the show...

Thanks for the kind comment, wish you lived out here so you could hang out with us, xo

I thought I was the only one daydreaming about that when watching The Office LOL. I'm a freelance writer at home, although I love working in my pajamas I do wish I was working with a zany office like the one in the show. I mean they practically get paid to do nothing.

I work out of home (right now I'm doing research in the field so I'm working out of hotel rooms!) and when I'm in a office it's at a university as an academic and I don't recall anything that exciting happening! I do miss dressing up for work, so now even though I work from home I get dressed up for it everyday! Have a great week ladies :)

The Office is one of my favorites! I wonder how it will be once Steve Carrel leaves...

I worked in an office totally like Dunder Mifflin. It was hilarious to talk about with my co-workers.

I really miss having an office. I love what I do and I'm not sure I could give it up but there's a lot to be desired when working from home. Even just someone to bounce ideas off once in a while.

I don't watch this show but I LOVED working in an office. It was an incredible department and I had the most incredible group of adorable girls working under me. We used to frequently gather in my office at lunch and share, gossip, laugh etc. We were all at each other's weddings etc. I hated leaving my job which I loved but after my third, I just couldn't handle the commuting and job etc. Since I was a creative, dress was not an issue - and the rest of the company got used to seeing us in jeans etc. Of course big meetings required more formal attire.

I worked in an office for 8 months and it was horrible. first of all, I hate sitting in desks so that was painful. Second of all, the office characters were killing me!!! I hated the false sense of friendship that was needed.

this is one of my favorite shows..i watch the reruns and laugh my head off even if I have seen the episode 10 times before

i'm watching this at the moment, it's one of my favourites.

i've worked in plenty of disfunctional office environments and they certainly make things entertaining. No one strange in my current office sadly, maybe i need to become that person :)

That show is amazing - we've actually been re-watching the old ones online and it's pure greatness.

I work from home as well, and while I love the flexibility, I sometimes do miss having coworkers around. even the dwight-like characters!

i love the office! i love the older seasons more than the more recent ones.

actually in my old job in chicago, our dept was pretty much THE OFFICE. those of us who watched the show often characterized our co-workers. it kept meetings really interetsing. ;)
