Green Fingers

I'm terrible in keeping plants alive but each time I visit my friend Sofia's flat I fall in love more and more with the idea of having plants all around. So this morning I got a sweet surprise in a form of a tiny plant to start off my collection. The deal is that I have to keep it alive till April and only then I can get the second one. Darlings, do you have plants in your apartment? xoxo

P.S: I'm amazed by this "how to" light bulb terrarium. Isn't it fantastic?
P.P.S: Great take on fresh flowers (giggle)

I'm terrible with plants - my husband and I's roommate has some and we live in fear of killing them when we care for them when he's out of town.

Sadly I have a black thumb rather than a green one...I can't keep a plant alive to save my life. That's why I love fresh flowers every once in a while, all the beauty with very little maintenance!

I can't keep plants alive, either! It runs in my family - my mother killed my cactus when I moved to China! lol. I wish I had the space for plants in my flat, though - or the know-how to keep them alive! I think your idea of only getting a second one if you can keep this one alive till April is an excellent idea!! xo

We have lots of plants in our house. It doesn't hurt that Christian works at a greenhouse.

i am terrible at this too. i started out with herbs and they would die part way in the summer. so last year i was smart enough to bring them inside when it started to get to hot. but with them came a ton of little black bugs, right before my family was supposed to come into town for my shower. so we ended up vaccuming them off the walls and the plants were sent back outside to die. better luck this year!

I'm not great at taking care of plants either but small potted plants & herbs are easier to maintain. Especially if you get to reap the benefits of fresh tasty herbs. Last year I purchased some herbs and managed to keep a few of the plants going all summer. This spring/summer I plan on trying to grow a few from seed. Maybe I'll blog about the process & hopeful success. Seeing those pretty little plants on the window sill gets me excited.

I love plants, both indoor and outdoors. I'm usually good at keeping them alive, although I have never tried to grow lemon trees, I would like to have one!

that is a great take on the 'fresh flowers' easy to ship anywhere!

I'm a plant person, I have them all over my apartment and I love getting new ones. I hate when they die, it's like I failed as a plant mom. But most of mine are going strong (knock on wood). Plants in the winter though, they struggle. I lost most of my big jade that I have had for years this winter. I salvaged some but they are having a hard time with all this cold. Poor things. Come on spring! Good luck with yours, you can do it!

I love plants but am terrible at keeping them alive! I either forget about them or when I finally do remember them I drown them. Eeks! What's the secret?

These are so pretty! I'm embarrassed to admit I've never owned a plant. Gabe keeps telling me we should get one, but I'm nervous I'll kill it! Haha.

haha im so bad with plants, too! but I got a plant at the market 6 months ago and is still alive!!! the secret to keep them alive is to talk to them! sounds crazy but I've been talking to it and it's working!

I am so with you. The only thing that I can keep alive are succulents and herbs. Shame.

I used to have plants when I lived in the US and occasionally I'll get some herbs and grow them in the kitchen. But since moving to Australia, I was always afraid I'd leave and then have to dispose of the plants!

ahhh, no. hahaha..I am like you. My plants survive outside though. I have many in large pots out in the back.

You can do it!

I love plants, but I am honestly also not too good with keeping them alive. However, I have improved and learned a lot the last years... Some of my plants I already have more than 3 years :)

these are gorgeous and you can tell they are loved. plants feel love. i am convinced. i graduated with a b.s. in ornamental horticulture (think i've mentioned that to you before) and adore plants. BUT, since the babies, i don't have as many. toddlers tend to get into the dirt and i am paranoid about them eating the leaves. i am currently working on a "hanging" indoor garden. well, i have plans for it, not implemented yet!

beautiful pictures, diana!
p.s. typing w/ one hand baby in the other ;)
