Home Inspiration: Frames

Tuesday, January 25, 2011

One of the coolest thing people have in their home are frame walls. Lately I'm smitten with matching b&w photos with the same colour frames. They just give such a great contrast and look fresh. I also noticed that some people choose not to hang their art, instead they stand it by the wall or put it on their furniture (especially great for those who are renting). My Dears, what are your thoughts on that? xoxo

Ps: More beautiful frame walls.

too funny...we just did a frame wall yesterday for some of the photography my husband has done over the years. I love it. And that last image with the console is adorable. It's giving me a few ideas.

I am actually right now scanning the internet for vintage frames. Just bought some basic ones at IKEA and now want to mix them with some nice vintage ones...
Looks lovely!

Diana, these are some really pretty interiors. I especially love the second one down that has the teal blue placemats.

I just matted two of my photography pieces with a black matting (for a change from the traditional white) and I am loving it.

Have a sweet day love!

I LOVE my frame walls. I have one that follows up the stairs and another in my living room where they're lined up on floating shelves. The frames are all a little different, but since they're all black they look great together.

I usually grab my frames on clearance since the amount of frames needed for a photo wall can quickly add up. If they're not black, a quick coat of spray paint works great.

I absolutely love looking at art in other people's homes...it always looks so grown up and fun to me. At the same time...when it comes to picking out art worthy of my walls, I am clueless and usually just end up covering my walls with photos of family and friends :) xo Cat

I love hanging picture frames. Special moments. family. friends. It's like a wall snap shot of your life. I think it's worth the holes in the wall. :)

I love to put collages of picture frames on my walls. I like to use all different styles depending on the room and it's function. I am currently working on a collage using antique gold frames with sepia pictures. Have a wonderful day! xoxo

I love frame walls but as a renter I can't really do them so I have a few things hung and then virtually every shelf in this place has a frame on it!

I love frame galleries. I recently bought a bunch of black frames with and I have been planning on doing a gallery wall in my living room, somehow I just cannot find the time to get it done. One day soon maybe this will happen ...

I actually really love the idea of leaning the frames against the wall rather than hanging them. Something I've been thinking about doing.

Happy Tuesday, honey! xoxo

I love looking at frame walls full of family and friends photos, Cat:) I bet yours is beautiful!

And Courtney, my friend has the same problem. She is renting but to make it all work she puts her frames all around the floor and they look great!

I'm all in. We have our photo wall in our entryway and it's where everybody lingers either coming or going from our home, great conversation starter. I also have some artwork leaning against furniture but that's mostly because I haven't decided where to hang it yet, been a year maybe I'll leave it:)

I love b&w frames and photos, we had a wall like that in our last place, but haven't put up anything yet in our new place. Soon, I shall get to it! :)

I'm obsessed with frame walls, too. In fact, a friend of mine is an interior decorator, and she's helping me re-do my livingroom. We've been thrifting chunky gold frames, and are filling them with prints and arranging them hodge-podge above my couch. I'll be blogging about it when it's done.

I'm obsessed with gallery walls. It's absolutely the only way I could ever fit all of our art in our wee apartment. I change them up all the time though, which drives my husband nuts. He has to hang them all and patch the holes :/

Agreed, Diana, it's really a great look.
