Looking Ahead

Thursday, December 30, 2010

For the past few weeks I have been making tiny notes about my New Year goals, and beside the usual stuff (dress more like French women, eat healther or read more books), I'm going to mix it up a bit! The plan is that each night before going to sleep I'll make a list of about 5 "things" that made me happy and gave me a warm fuzzy feeling that day! I read it somewhere that if you keep this up, it will chance your whole outlook for the better. Dears, how does that sound? Wanna join in? What are your plans for 2011? xo

Ps: Fancy a chit-chat? Join me on Twitter!

I also picked up your button and added it to my blog ;) This year I am going to continue to get rid of the things I don't need! ;)

Fantastic idea! I always do a little list of things I'm grateful for but I have never thought of doing one that gives me the warm and fuzzies. That sounds so much fun!

I share some of your resolutions as well - eating healthier and reading more. I just got the kindle and it has definitely made reading even better. My goal is to be more organized and manage my time better in 2011.

Happy New Year & wishing you the best for 2011!

What a great idea! It is so easy to remember the bad things that happened during the day, so to sit down and force yourself to think of 5 happy things is so wonderful! Happy New Year!! I can't wait until 2011 ;)

I may not have a warm fuzzy feeling every day, but I think it would be a good idea to list the things for which I'm thankful that day. And as an additional step, maybe I could even think of one way I could encourage or help someone the next day!

That sounds like a LOVELY idea. I think I might have to join you. With the "5 things" resolution and the French dressing one. Great resolutions!

Fabulous idea!

I was thinking almost the same! For the new year, I'm gifting myself this journal. One line a day for 5 years. It'd be nice to read back on your thought process. It'd also make a nice mother-to-be journal!

Have a lovely new year!

i did that for a while, and i'm still a pessimist. no really, i think it is a great idea, and helps to really understand that small stuff, positive small stuff, is positive nonetheless. good luck with this goal, and your others as well.

That's a great resolution - it's one that nurtures your soul :) I've done that here and there, though I haven't been steady in doing it everyday. But it's definitely good to keep cultivating gratitude...it'll help you stay in the present too, by taking it one day at a time :) Love the resolution! :)

I think that is a great idea- it will really keep you positive, even after a tough day. I might try to do this for myself, too!

What a goal! I'm not sure I could keep that up but it is a fantastic idea to keep everything in perspective. Stay positive!

P.S. I think they make special journals specifically for this...I saw it on someone's blog awhile ago.

That's a great resolution, and I think I'll copy it :) I have a tendency of getting bogged down by things that are NOT going as I want so, it will be lovely to remind myself of what IS!

Diana dear, that is a GREAT idea! I started to do something similar about 18 months ago. I start to think of the things I'm grateful for that happened that day (such as, I had a nice, hot shower!, thinking there's people that don't have a roof over their heads). Sometimes, I'm thankful to have a washer and dryer that work. Whatever it is, the more I started to thank for, the more things I found I could be thankful for. I started to smile more and my outlook on life started to change.
Whatever you do, I wish you the best of the best during 2011!!! Thanks for being my blog friend. Hugs!!!! Happy new Year, darling!
