Crown Braids

Tuesday, December 21, 2010

Tonight Balazs and I are going for the last pre-Christmas party of the season and I will be wearing this dress and (hopefully) a crown braid. Our very skillful friend offered to teach me how to make my hair into crown braids this afternoon, so I can't wait! (I will let you know how it went). Darlings, have you tried this hair style before? Would you wear it? xoxo

I always wanted long hair growing up, something about being able to braid in the summer time, let the cool breeze fall across my neck and just enjoy how long it was.

I never got my wish. My mom said it would look to ratty and indeed she was right.

I ADORE this crown braid!!! You should totally post a DIY on how to make one. :)

Hope you had a fantastic time, can't wait to hear about it!

Yes, when my hair was long I did. I have been doing my daughter's hair like this all her life. She is 24 now and that is the style she wore in our Christmas cards this year, love it.

I've always loved this look.
My hair is too long for me to try this by myself.
Your friend should post a tutorial.

Marie said...

don't tell me she made this braid by herself, that's crazy !! it looks really pretty but I would be unable to do it myself, I'm not too adventurous with my hair (it kind of already have a life of its own). Have a great evening sweetie, your dress looks really really cute (I would totally wear it :) xx

This is such a beautiful hair style. I don't think I can do this myself but I wouldn't mind someone else braiding my hair. Please share pictures with us of how your hair looks. Have a great time at the party tonight!

Love the hairstyle although I'm sure I could never do it myself! And you'll look lovely I'm sure in that elegant dress!

DB said...

Adorable! I used to do mine like Heidi braids across my head when I was younger, but I've never thought of doing this!

My hair may be a little bit too long for it though because it goes down to my waist.

Who knows. Here I thought that I'd already tried everything possible with braids.

Sarah said...

Love this look! The only problem with my new short haircut is that I can't do any epic braiding anymore...

I love this style. I wear it a lot, actually. It's easy once you get it down. I like to leave some pieces in the front down and lightly curled for some texture by the face. I bet you looked stunning!

that hair do is going to look amazing

I have a lot of hair, so I think mine might look more like a bulky hat than a crown. :-) I think it looks beautiful on the model, though!
