Salted Caramel And Chocolate Cake

Tuesday, November 23, 2010

Early next week Balazs has his birthday and this year I want to bake something I haven't done before (and he doesn’t suspect it). Two things he can't live without are: chocolate and caramel.  So the plan right now is to make this scrumptious salted caramel and chocolate cake but I am not totally sure about it. Darlings, I would love to know if you have any great caramel or chocolate recipes? Do share:) xoxo

oh I was also planning on making this for my boyfriend's birthday but he wasn't impressed unfortunately with the caramel and salt so I didn't, if you do let us know how amazing it is :)

Diana Mieczan said...

Btw: Isn't salted caramel the best? The salt gives it such a delicious rich taste:)

I am a big choc addict, caramel not so much and the cake looks actually like a "too much" version... but then again, maybe this is just what he loves?
I like when I can still taste what I am actually eating and not just sweet...
The pic is great though :)))

Oh I'm not too sure about the salt...?!

Diana Mieczan said...

I think you can't really taste the salt..Its just there to bring out the flavour

You must make that cake because I have to know how it turns out. My husband loves the combination as well. My mouth is watering for that cake and it's only 5:00 a.m.!

I only know one yummy recipe with puffed rice and caramel. But unfortunately there is no chocolate.. :/
This one looks and sounds yummy though. I think the salt will give the caramel some really exciting touch.
