Soup-reme!

Balazs and I are obsessed with soups. It all started last autumn with smitten kitchen's garlic soup and since then, Balazs got really hooked on making creamy and fulfilling pots of goodness! By now we gathered about four different recipes that we love: the garlic, creamy spinach, sweet potato & chilli and gazpacho soup (hot version). We are ready to try something new, so I would like to ask: do you have any recommendations? What is your all time favourite soup? xoxo

Ps: This French onion soup made me literally lick my monitor screen :)

That does look good! I do a fusion of miso soup and tortilla soup that is fabulous....lots of garlic, jalapenos, organic chicken broth, then the miso...then lots of lime juice, fresh avocado, cilantro and a few tortilla chips....yummy.....

i love french onion soup. it makes the house smell yummy and onion-y as it cooks, but it does take A LOT of very thin slicing of onions.

also, we had this potato soup in germany that was absolutely to die for. i wish i'd gotten the recipe...

I have a veg soup recipe that basically involves me walking around the produce isle picking the finest produce (eggplant, zucchini, carrots, parsnips, etc). Cook down a bit and add vegetable stock, garbanzo beans and a big can of organic crushed tomatoes and the usual spices and finish off with a few splashes of balsamic and we have ourselves a fine meal. I'm not so good at following recipes, so soup's my go to meal!

Mmm I love French onion soup!! Sometimes I get it at Trader Joes in their frozen section. It may sound weird to buy it in their frozen section, but it is so good! I think my favorite soup is lemon chicken spinach soup.

I did come across a delicious looking Butternut Squash & White Bean Stew at Sweet Paul - http://www.sweetpaulmag-digital.com/sweetpaulmag/fall2010#pg12 - that I keep coming back to!

I'm a soup fanatic! Seriously I could eat soup for lunch and dinner every day of the week. And I often do! :)

I can't wait to start cooking soups again. Last year I cooked up a storm and posted some of them. There are recipes for Tuscan Tomato, Potato Leek, White Bean, Broccoli Leek & Sweet Potato. They're all pretty amazing.

Check them out if you're interested:
