What Is The Life You Want?

(via 1 2 3 4)
We all have a quite clear idea of what we want from life....right? Im the first one to admit that I am not quite there yet but for the most part I know how the picture should look like....just have a little trouble in balancing all the elements :)
So, let me ask you, my Darlings: What is the life you want? Is it much different from the one you have?....Nothing is off limits....be honest!

Let's talk:)

Here is me......
My main three things are: happiness/love, creativity/discovery and balance. That is pretty much what I want from life and I think I'm coverd with the first two....I am still trying to figure out how to balance it all...What I mean by it is...family, work, other comitments and all the craziness that comes with it....:) Some days are way too short and weeks fly by too fast....

balance is absolutely key - but so hard to achieve. sometimes I feel like I'm getting pulled every which way with no time to think. but mostly I'm happy with my lot.

space
relationships
home

balancing all three is tough...i'm not there yet. although i guess we're always working toward achieving and maintaining that "perfect" balance without guilt.

this was a thought provoker.

Diana, Such a thoughtful question for a beautiful Tuesday morning. I LOVE your answer! I may have to think about this but top of mind I think about just having inner happiness becaue that makes everything else ok.But I completely understand what you are saying about balance. And with a child the balance gets tricky sometimes.

I have a very good life...I am really happy and blessed...I really can't ask for anything more :) But to be honest, I want more for me and my career, I have high expectations and goals for myself- I WANT to meet those goals but I don't HAVE to..

I just want security and the ability to do anything I want or need in terms of travel, health, and having a kid--without money holding me down.

I am just trying to make sure that I am live and see as much as I can while I'm here!!

oh wow this is vast!

I agree with you, diana, that this isn't exactly the life I want right now...and honestly, my idea of a perfect life changes every year or so, so I'm just living.
I always feel incredibly thankful that God guides my feet and has a path and a plan...so no matter what place in life I'm at, there is a purpose. and if something seems to go awry, often that is His guidance, bringing me to something better than I would have chosen for myself :)

To stay in balance I need to adjust - moving from the city to the countryside (and back perhaps?). Making time and space for others - having time for myself... Working loads - letting work take a backseat... Sometimes there is destruction so that (hopefully) things can start again. xo

I pinch myself every day about how lucky I am. Wonderful man, happy children. I wish I never worried for what is the reason? When it is all so good!
Yes! Being more creative and a better cook would be wonderful!
Have a lovely day!

I'm lucky in that I can say it's not much different than the one I have now. Just with a little more freedom and some more travel.

This is a great post, and really makes you think. I think that knowing what you want is an ongoing process because life is always changing and presenting new circumstances.

I just want happiness - in any place, with anyone, at any time. And to live in Paris and eat Nutella crepes all day, of course!

I love my life now! I mean, I would sometimes change the setting to Italy but in reality I love being here close to my family. Life is wonderful and I am so blessed.

I'm a very happy person and know how very fortunate I am. If I had to come up with something that I want it would be to continue to be a blessed as I am, to one day own a house...preferably by the beach :), and to have a child.

Hope you have a fabulous Tuesday, honey! xoxo

hmmm...thought provoking question.

i have to say, most times it feels like i have no idea what i want from life, other than the most general things:

to be happy.
to have no regrets.
when it is all over, to feel like i lived the crap outta my life.

I think my life would be better balanced by a more 9 to 5 job. I want to have the flexibility to allow a healthy relationship to prosper, and to have hobbies... I like my current life, but there are only small details that would make it more comfortable.

Achieve the goals I've set for myself and help my husband and monkeys achieve the goals they set for themselves- even if that support just means feeding them healthy food and washing their clothes for them.
Thanks D- for making me think of this today!

Selfishly, I just want more of it!!! Lots more, years and years more! I want to grow old & wrinkly and watch my grandchildren grow up...I want it all! I wouldn't change my life other than making us all permanently healthy!
Great post.

I'm pretty family oriented. I put good health first because without it, we can't accomplish much in life.

Nice post. I want a creative life, a simple life. I want to have a garden, lots of animals, my little shop and a couple of good travels a year. I don't care about love, I'll be very happy if I'll have it, but I'm fine without too. I don't care about being rich: the only luxury I would like to have is a house by the lake.

Hmmm...the perfect relationship with a cute boy, and a publishing contract would make my life perfection. Other than that, I'm quite happy with things the way they are!! :)

My husband really makes me happy with just about anywhere. However, I'm pretty sick of being so broke. While money isn't a main objective for me, it woudl be nice.
I am loving the mountains of Colorado but miss the ocean... so I would like to live somewhere with mountains and ocean within easy rides of each other - preferably within site of each other.
I see myself owning my own community studio that runs groups and individual art therapy sessions, plus a studio room to the side that the community can just enjoy. Hopefully a few kids will be running around my legs as I paint too. :)

What a great post and truly something to think about! I am a very happy person. Did my life turn out the way I thought, mostly but I'm sure there is room for improvement. Since my mother has passed I have learned to not have regrets with people and not let too much time pass between talking. I make it a point to laugh everyday and not take everything so seriously. I understand that I need to enjoy my kiddos more because they are growing so fast. And of course it isn't a good day without something good to read!

I'm still trying to figure this out! I had it at one point but life changes so it's new goals and dreams for me :) Exciting and overwhelming at the same time! But with love and support from family & friends I have no fear!

Bree said...

Still trying to figure this out as well..there are just so many different facets, and it can sometimes be a little overwhelming!
I want to be balanced and yet never grow too comfortable with where I'm at..there is too much to explore in the world! I want to be happy and in love.
Oh, and I want to live in Russia or Eastern Europe as a musician/architect for a portion of my life.
A great question:)

For me, the perfect life I want is to travel the world, writing, blogging, selling my photography and being my own boss while being in a relationship with a like-minded creative guy who I can build a small family with to include in our adventures. I want warmth, laughter, good food, good wine, sunshine, friendships, happiness and love. Is it so far off from what I have now? Now at all. It's within reach.
