Missed Connections

Tuesday, July 13, 2010
The lovely Sophie Blackall created a very special series of prints called "Missed Connection". These are seemingly insignificant interactions between people in thier everyday life that go unnoticed. With those prints she tried to pin a few of those moments down. Those three are my favourites. I just adore the simplicity of each piece and the special connection I feel towards it.

Each individual print has a story behind. If you would like to read more about it, just click here.

Which one do you like?

Good Morning, Darlings

what sweet illustrations! i love that second one, too, and i love these missed connections. two local city papers have these in the back, and i always read them. they call them "i love you, i hate you" and "i saw you." always interesting.

I LOVE this! Thank you for sharing.

I like the line: 'you were one of the warmest people I've met on the subway at 2AM. And a reminder why I love this city.

It reminds me of something. I met a man in Paris. We talked a little bit. He mentioned his grandchildren. Sometimes I have to think of him and I hope everything is ok with him and his family.

So amazing that someone who you don't really know could be kind of important to you...:)

Those are really pretty. I don't think I'd ever know if someone wrote me a 'missed connection' message because I don't read newspapers or magazines. :-\

Oh, I absolutely love this! So original and sweet. I once read a poem that talked about the same thing, and the poet called it the "love language of the lonely."
