I'm reading Little Bee by Chris Cleave right now. I think it's written so well and the story is pretty captivating.

Ooh, I just finished reading Homer & Langley by E.L. Doctorow. It was sad, but really good. I love just about anything by him, I'd have to say World's Fair is my favorite though, with Ragtime in a close second, followed by Billy Bathgate.

At the moment I'm reading The Dew Breaker by Edwidge Danticat. I'm having a bit of trouble following it, because the narrator keeps changing, but I read one of her other books, The Farming of Bones, for a lit course in college and it was amazing!

I am tempted to reread the Great Gatsby because it's summer and I want to feel rich. Ha! Not the greatest motivation but I just might do it.

i just finished watching the movie the girl with the dragon tattoo, and i really want to read the book. i had tried before, and didn't get very far. then i found out one must push past the first 40 pages or so. the girls is one of my favorite books, about conjoined twins, and "they" alternate chapters and tell the story.

I began reading the second part to Eat, Pray, love but I left it behind in Iowa. If you ever saw the movie Bounty Hunter then you might enjoy the books by Janet Evanovich. except the bounty hounter is a girl! they are fun reads (the're a whole series) I've only read #1 and #2.

right now I;m finishing a book I picked at a used bookstore,by Elizabeth Edmondson "The Villa in Italy". entertaining enough,

after I finish I will be reading
The Girl with the dragon tattoo by Stieg Larsson, I read a great review and am intrigued by it.

I've recently read "Can You Keep A Secret" by Sophie Kinsella & I thought it was interesting. Or read any of Chelsea Handler's books because she's hilarious. Or any Chuck Palahniuk books. :)

I read in someone else's blog that they were reading "Water for Elephants" and loved it. Its being made into a movie. My last book was only so so and took me forever to read!

I just finished "Little Bee" and instantly passed it to my mom because I loved it to much.

I'm half way through "The Known World" and its brilliant (albeit a little heart-breaking). I'd definitely recommend it.

Oh I love Gwyennie! I'll have to check out the link for sure.

Hmmm...good books, well I read a rather heavy book by EB Sledge, lately and a great bio of Andy Warhol. Sounds kinda of nerdy but I guess my reading tastes are a bit on the geeky side! :)

I'm reading the Great Gatsby, Autobiography of Malcolm X, and Dreaming in French all at the same time. I recently finished The Kreutzer Sonata by Tolstoy, and it was an enjoyable read, although admittedly odd.

Have you read any of Lionel Shriver's work? I love it and have just finished (literally, just now), her latest book, So Much For That. Brilliant.

I just read The Mercy of Thin Air by Ronlyn Domingue and looooved it, and I'm somehow pegging it as something you'd enjoy a lot, too. I've been getting my recommendations recently through a blog written by a bunch of people in the literary industry and haven't been disappointed yet, it's at www.boxocto.com. They occasionally have posts titled "buy this book"--I buy the ones that sound interesting and read them and love them. Sadly they don't have tags for those posts, so you have to dig through the archives, but it's definitely worth it!

Diana, have you read any of Geraldine Brooks books? I can thoroughly recommend Year of Wonders and People of the Book. Unputdownable! Or they were for me.
