....For some reason view is very important for Balazs and I. It's on top of our house shopping list...As I looked out the window, I wondered what other views I would fancy? I am such a city girl and I would love to see the Eiffel Tower each morning, but I also adore the blissful beauty of nature....How about you? What is your view and what would you fancy?

OMG, I would LOVE to wake up to that view every morning that's paradise.

I am a city girl, too, so I would prefer the Eiffel Tower... but because I love having baths and that view is so amazing, I say Paris during the week and then a country villa for off days :-)

I have actually always wanted a view of the Eiffel Tower, so the first image is perfect for me!

That would be great!

Both have there pluses! Love this first view though! So incredible!

Danielle said...

Oh wow! I would take either one of those views! Start my morning off much brighter!

I agree with you. A great view is essential. In my opinion, it's more important than how attractive the exterior of a place is (hands down) and especially if you are in the city where your view is an extension of the interior, really.

Omg to open your window & see the Effiel tower would be such a dream. Woa.

I would love a view of Central Park in NYC. I have a view of it as my desktop at work. Or maybe a beach view would be great. =)

hard to say! I love the city for sure, but having a more remote home where everything's peaceful and serene is also dreamy . . . all I know is that an amazing claw foot bathtub like that needs to be part of the plan!

I couldn't agree more about the importance of a view. I live in downtown Chicago and we overlook our "loop" area and Lake Michigan:) It's perfect!

I'd love to wake up to the view of the ocean everyday. Nothing better than an ocean storm when you are all warm and cozy in your house with tons of HUGE windows!

when i was living with my parents in mumbai, india before i moved to nyc 5 yrs ago, my parents apt [which is on the 17th floor] had the view of the ocean...from all the rooms... no building in between our building and the ocen...just one tiny garden...my dad had all the window sills in all rooms to be as low as 12 inches above the floor...everything else was glass windows... i love the view from there during sunset everyday.. i miss my room and my parents sooo much!!!! and even in the night/ early morning, u would see the most incredible moon sets on the water...for a hardcore city girl like me, that was heaven.. man..now im depressed!!! i wanna go home!!!

Ideally I would love to be on hill over looking the city on one side with a big park full of trees to look at from a window on the other side of the house.

oh my goodness, what astoundingly beautiful views!

we have a view of a little patch of pine trees, which we like very much. it's about the best you can do in suburbia. :P

seems like many big cities in europe have lovely green parks in them. maybe you'll end up with the best of both worlds? i certainly hope you do! :)

I fancy both. Nature is beautiful, but a beautiful city skyline is awesome too. And view is important!!

I'm totally view you on this and these are such lovely views. The house I'm living right now I fell in love with for its views... fields and sheep to the back, fields and cows to the front... Last year we stayed in a hotel in Paris with a view at the Eiffel tower and onto the Tuileries, and that was just as beautiful, in a very different way.

I really enjoy city views (who wouldn't love the Eiffel Tower!!??) but I have to say my dream view is of a field with a stone wall, an ocean in the distance, maybe a forest with lots of light. are you moving?!

Sarah said...

Oh snap. I'm a total city girl but I'd give it up in a second to have that bathtub. Can you imagine?

Give me a view of the ocean any day!! xoxo

I have to say beach or the tidal marsh by my house. Both the sight and smells are beautiful.

This view is perfect. I too am a city girl, but this has a different feel to it from the "city" life. Simply wonderful!

Well Diana, both views are AMAZING - but to be soaking in the tub with a view like that ...? WINNER! hands down.

What a lovely post. I am not sure which view I like the most. I know I would want one over looking a valley and one where I could see the sunset. I do prefer a good sunset over a good sunrise. If I see the sunrise I am up to early in my book.

Oh wow that is pretty amazing, the thought of looking out to the tower as I write!! I would be in heaven, knowing that I could skip down there and eat a croissant! I love a view of the ocean as well. xoxo

The Eiffel views are glorious, but I prefer to be amidst nature for the daily life, cities are great for long weekend getaways. I live just outside Paris with nature, nature and more nature. The same goes for Germany - I feel so happy with nature nearby.

These views are stunning! I prefer the second view of nature. My view is of a busy (& noisy) city street.

I'd take a city view anyday!

Monica from Hola!design said...

I used to think that you could see the Eiffel Tower from every window in Paris (that's what the movies made us believe!)
I think it doesn't get better that having a view of the Eiffel Tower.
Also, a view of the ocean of a view of Manhattan is pretty cool, too.

I fancy waking up to the ocean. ANY ocean! xx

Tamara Nicole said...

Ohhhhhh I soooo would love that view! Either one:-) Hmmmm my perfect view would be a view on a mountain over either sunflower fields or vineyards in Tuscany. Hmmmm BUT I'l keep my "park-like" back yard I guess, lol.

lovely!

Oh my goodness, the view, the view! Gorgeous!

My view is that of neighbors, yes, we have gardens and trees but you can't escape the neighbors.

My dream, a little cottage right on the sea...I'm a pisces and water calls to me. I could never live that far from the ocean, ever.

I can walk down to the sea but nothing beats having it right out your own window...that would be bliss to me!

I love to visit the city but the ocean is my home!

xoxo Beth

Totally with you on the imortance of a view - It can completely make or break a room for me.

I NEED that Paris apartment, it's calling me...

Xx

Becky said...

Right now our view is of the wooded area behind our apartment and occasionally brake lights from the cars on the road (on the other side of the trees).

That first view made me sigh out loud so I am most def. a city girl!

Hey Diana - where are those pics from? I wasn't sure if you added a credit link to them? I couldn't find one.

I actually have the exact same Paris view photo on my computer and dream of a view like that. At the moment we don't really have a view, but I do dream of something so lovely!
