Birthday Fun for Grown-ups

Monday, May 17, 2010
My birthday is still a few months away ( I can’t wait!) but this zebra piñata makes me want to jump up and have some sweet fun! I usually have quite a low key Bday celebration, with a dinner and some shopping but this made me think that maybe I should stir things up this year. Just picture a bunch of adults trying to knock out dear life of this zebra...and for what? Candy!!!!

How do you spend your Birthday?

Hugs,
xoxoxox

(thanks, Jamie)

I LOVE IT! I never thought of a pinata at an adults party, but who doesn't love to knock stuff around? And that pinata is GREAT!! Where did you find it?

I've never had a pinata but it would be great fun, I'm sure. I'm pretty boring when it comes to celebrating my birthday, a dinner with my husband in a fancy restaurant, or dinner with close friends is my sort of thing... I do love getting presents, who doesn't?? :-D What's on your birthday wishlist?

Oh my god I love pinatas and that is a pinata for grown-ups! I want one so bad! I'd be tempted to fill it with a combination of delicious candy (like those new Godiva Gems or something) and those tiny shot-sized plastic bottles of liquor. And then have plenty of mixers on the side. Now I want a pinata. Or a cocktail.

What a coincidence. My birthday is actually this Thursday. I always do something low key but this pinata would be fun. I probably wouldn't put candy in it though, maybe some other little surprises. xx

i've seen this Zebra a few months ago - and i'm still ga-ga for it!!!! .. i'm usually ANTI-birthday - i just do a simple dinner and that's it - but had a few big bashes - and i just had my surprise 30th (which i'm not 30 just yet, still holding onto the 20's as long as i can) ..

Hi darling,
thanks for your comment and your question about my sister. Unfortunately, she died on Thursday. My heart aches as she was so, so dear to me. But life goes on and I have a renewed energy to live every minute of it. She was only 61 years old. Take care. Enjoy your day to the fullest!

Gosh, are you sure you want to ask me about what I want for my birthday? Realistically, I won't be asking for much because I'll be getting a/the car :-D
But on my wishlist for the far-far-future: I've spotted (this week) a Patek Philippe watch (which I'll never get) and maybe an Hermes bag (which I'll have to save up for and buy in secret) :-) Well, keep an eye on my blog, I might have a haul and review post on these two items in twenty years' time!!

A pinata sounds DELIGHTFUL! I have to admit, I usually do it up for my birthday . . . last year I had a big beach bonfire party, the year before that was a karaoke extravaganza, and the year before that was a shindig at our local, huge, famed tiki tonga bar. :) I love birthdays! Not just mine, but everyone's.

What a cute pinata! Great idea!

Oh my gosh, that looks so fun! I love a good pinata and I especially love the candy that goes with it! The last few years I've spent my birthday at dinner with friends and my husband. It's been very low-key which has been nice. I'm not opposed to a big party though if it involves that zebra pinata!

Holy cool. I LOVE pinatas! All of em'. Even Dora the Explorer. Especially when I get to beat it up for candy...hahaha

I was just talking to my hubs last night about my birthday (i'm Aug -- when's yours?) I was fleshing out a Private Pirate Party on the Santa Maria before the thing rots into the river...http://www.santamaria.org :)

This pinata rocks. I totally need my husband to throw me a surprise party. But I think I might like her dress more? Whatever, both. I'll take both. The dress and the pinata.

Ooooh Diana - what a great idea! I love the thought that adults can have good-ole' fun. Nothing I'd like more than to scramble for candy :)
I'm hoping for my next birthday I go skydiving. Hey! Maybe I can carry a bag of candy and drop it as I free fall!

My birthday is pretty low key as well. I hope you do end up buying a pinata! You can't go wrong with one. Unless of course it's filled with bees. But logically, that wont happen.

I wish I'd had one of those for my birthday party last Saturday. I always cook a load of food, get some friends round, drink too much.. Then spend the next day lounging around with DVDs!

We just attended an adult b-day party with a pinata! The munchkins took a swing at it first but then only the birthday boy got a swing at it before it was destroyed. The fun part was that everyone enjoyed the candy afterwards. My hubby brought me a candy ring. It was pretty sweet on multiple levels! Great find!
